Exploring Life & Business with Vy Rosa of Vyrosa Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vy Rosa.

Hi Vy , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Vy. Nice to e-meet you. I’m currently a creative director and a co-owner at Vyrosa Agency. We offer professional photography and videography for personal brands, businesses, and commercial brands. I grew up in Vung Tau, a small city in Vietnam. Six years ago, I moved to America to pursue my dream of becoming a commercial photographer and specializing in beauty industry. It has been an amazing journey so far and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.

I’ve had the privilege of working with brands such as Elta MD Skincare, Neo Cutis, Proteya. Most recently my work for Elta MD Skincare has been published in the New York Times and featured on Wall St. billboards in NYC. It’s a surreal feeling—sometimes I joke that my photos have seen more of the world than I have!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were definitely challenges along the way. One of the hardest was dealing with uncertainty—pushing forward even when nothing seemed to be happening. There were days I wanted to give up, but looking back, every step was worth it.

I began my photography journey in 2018 with just an iPhone 6. I couldn’t afford a camera, but I reached out to one of my idols in LA, and she told me to practice every day and be patient—a phone lens is still a lens. I took that advice to heart, shooting and editing every day on my phone. Those images became my first portfolio and led to my first official job in photography at an advertising agency. Even though I had to drive more than 100 miles each day, that job gave me valuable connections and eventually led to my first publication in The New York Times. Looking back, I realize that every sacrifice can pay off when you stay patient and work hard.

As a Vietnamese immigrant woman, you usually have only two choices: to become a nail technician or pursue an academic career like doctor, engineer, or nurse. It almost felt like I was blindly feeling my way forward until I got to where I am today, because I didn’t have many people in my community to guide me. My family didn’t initially trust or support my career choice, so I had to constantly prove—not just to them, but to myself—that this path was possible.

Through it all, I’ve learned that you need to be a little stubborn to push through uncertainty and have faith that you will reach where you want to be. I’m excited to see how my business and I will grow in the future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We’re a creative production partner for brands and businesses, specializing in product, personal brand, and architecture photography and videography. Our work is professional, dynamic, elevated, and fun with a strategy and purpose behind.

With my degree in Commercial Photography, I focus on creating content that not only looks beautiful but also serves a strategy—making sure every shoot reflects the brand authentically. In the AI-driven world, highlighting personality and true branding is key to building trust and credibility—and that’s exactly what we strive to achieve.

Our team executes clients’ visions quickly, with a turnaround time of just four business days. But what truly excites me is the impact of our personal branding sessions—seeing clients light up with confidence, feel genuinely seen, and enjoying the process. People buy from people, and my ultimate purpose as a photographer is to make every client feel exactly that.

As a business owner, I understand the challenges of building and marketing a brand. We want to be a trusted creative partner who helps people create assets that engage an audience and drive results. Your success is our success, and we’re here to make your vision a reality. If you want to collab with us to make the content that sells, please email us at vyrosaphoto@gmail.com.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Growing up in a coastal city, I had the chance to swim at the beaches and watch the sunset every day. Enjoying street food and fresh seafood always makes me want to return to Vietnam—hopefully in the near future.
