Today we’d like to introduce you to Warren Mckamey M.B.A..

Warren Mckamey M.B.A.

Hi Warren, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When people ask me about Dream Ranch Office Supplies, I tell them it’s not just a business, it’s a story of faith, service, and perseverance that began long before I ever became its CEO. The company was founded over 21 years ago by Sheri De Wet, a remarkable entrepreneur whose integrity and compassion shaped the foundation of everything Dream Ranch stands for today.

Sheri, a devoted wife, loving mother, and woman of faith, brought her heart for people into every part of her business. She is also a respected leader at the Chisholm Trails Cowboy Church, where she often leads prayer and teaches Sunday school, a reflection of her heart for service and community.

Before starting Dream Ranch, Sheri built an incredible career in corporate America, serving as Vice President of Client Services and Implementation at ADP from 1978 to 2003, working in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Her professionalism, leadership, and vision gave birth to Dream Ranch, a company that started by selling inks and toners but quickly grew because of the way she did business.

Sheri didn’t just sell, she connected. She would personally deliver products, greet every customer with a smile, and hand out a small bag of M&Ms as her signature gesture of gratitude. That warmth and personal touch became part of the Dream Ranch DNA.

“The best businesses are built one handshake, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

When I was blessed to take on leadership of Dream Ranch, I saw in Sheri’s approach something that perfectly aligned with my own principles, that business, at its best, is about relationships and impact.

From the Air Force to Corporate America: Building a Foundation of Discipline and Drive

Before my time at Dream Ranch, my own path was forged through discipline and determination. I proudly served in the United States Air Force, where I was honorably discharged and awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for exemplary service. The military taught me structure, leadership, and how to perform under pressure, skills that would later define my career.

After my service, I entered corporate America, excelling in demanding environments, including my time with Geico, where I learned firsthand the importance of systems, accountability, and operational excellence. Those lessons became the backbone of how I lead today.

“Discipline isn’t just doing what’s required, it’s doing more than what’s expected, even when no one’s watching.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

I pursued higher education with that same intensity. I earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Certificate in Healthcare Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Management, and an Associate’s Degree in Transportation from the Community College of the Air Force, all with honors. I completed my programs ahead of schedule, not to impress anyone, but because I believe in maximizing every opportunity.
I have also studied at the doctoral level in Business Administration, continuing to challenge myself to grow in both knowledge and leadership.

A Leader, A Father, A Builder of Legacy

Today, as CEO of Dream Ranch Office Supplies, I lead one of the largest and most respected procurement companies in Texas, serving school districts, government agencies, healthcare systems, and businesses across the region. Our company generates consistent seven-figure revenues, but what truly defines our success is the impact we make on our clients and communities.

“Success is never about the size of your company, it’s about the size of your impact.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

Over the years, the company has evolved in step with its customers’ needs, expanding to offer over 500,000 SKUs across categories that now include office supplies, furniture, technology, industrial equipment, and healthcare essentials. That same customer-first philosophy remains the heartbeat of the business today, only now, the reach extends far beyond Texas.

My leadership philosophy is rooted in service and stewardship. I’ve always believed that the best way to grow is to help others grow. To this day, countless entrepreneurs and business owners reach out to me for consulting advice, not just because of my business experience, but because I think differently. I take pride in seeing possibilities where others see limits.

“Thinking outside the box is easy, it’s having the courage to build a new box that makes the difference.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

That mindset also extends to my family. I instill the same work ethic, discipline, and values in my children that shaped my own life. I tell them often that success isn’t inherited, it’s built, brick by brick, through effort, character, and consistency.

Sheri and I continue to have a great working relationship to this day. We both continue to learn from each other’s experiences, blending her grassroots wisdom with my corporate and strategic insight to strengthen Dream Ranch’s legacy.

Faith, Philanthropy, and Giving Back

My faith is my compass. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that every blessing I have is meant to be shared. Each year, I personally host back-to-school drives, providing free backpacks and school supplies to local students, all out of my own pocket. I’ve also funded scholarships for students at McLennan Community College, because I believe education is one of the most powerful tools for transformation.

“Education changes circumstances, but wisdom changes generations.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

My involvement extends into media and real estate, where I had the opportunity to star in the television program Rich Off of Real Estate. Through that platform, I shared my passion for custom home construction and my commitment to making homeownership accessible through my down payment assistance programs for qualified families.

“True wealth isn’t measured in square footage, it’s measured in how many lives you help build.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

I’ve also helped organize major events like the Waco Comedy Jam and the Waco Awards, working alongside my friend and collaborator Austin Nunn. My media company has produced creative content for a range of clients, including Baylor University’s Stroll Off event, showcasing how business and creativity can coexist to empower and uplift others.

Empowering Entrepreneurs: The Business Brunch

One of my proudest projects is our annual Business Brunch, an event created to educate, empower, and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. My team and I have even paid out of pocket to help attendees form their own LLCs, because I don’t believe success is something to be hoarded. It’s something to be shared.

“Leadership isn’t about being in charge; it’s about making sure others can rise when you step aside.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

From Sheri’s personal touch and grassroots beginnings to the nationwide reach we’ve built today, Dream Ranch Office Supplies is a living example of what happens when faith, hard work, and heart come together.

At the end of the day, my greatest joy isn’t the contracts we’ve won or the milestones we’ve reached, it’s knowing that through Dream Ranch, we’re building something that lasts. Something that serves. Something that inspires.

“Legacy isn’t what you leave behind; it’s what you build within others while you’re still here.” — Warren McKamey, M.B.A.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business with real history and heart, the journey of building Dream Ranch Office Supplies has been far from smooth, but every challenge has shaped us into the powerhouse we are today. Over the past 21 years, we’ve weathered economic downturns, market volatility, supply chain disruptions, and the ever-changing tides of technology and business innovation. Each season brought new lessons in perseverance, creativity, and faith.

There were moments when the economy tested our resolve, when inflation tightened budgets, when tariffs altered pricing structures overnight, and when supply chain challenges forced us to rethink how we sourced and delivered products. Modernizing the company to stay ahead of technological shifts required us to embrace innovation instead of fearing it. We had to learn how to adapt quickly, pivot strategically, and keep faith even when the path forward wasn’t clear.

Through it all, our foundation has remained the same: God first. His guidance has been the cornerstone of every major decision, every comeback, and every breakthrough. And with the vision, faith, and determination of both Sheri De Wet and myself, Dream Ranch not only survived difficult seasons, we grew stronger because of them. We learned that setbacks aren’t roadblocks; they’re preparation for greater opportunities ahead.

One of our greatest blessings through this journey has been our team. Today, Dream Ranch is home to some of the most talented, forward-thinking individuals in the industry, people like Justine, Rochelyn, Ardrian, John, and Merwin. They don’t just work here; they carry the vision forward. Their dedication, creativity, and sense of unity embody what Dream Ranch stands for: faith, resilience, and the unshakable belief that success is built through service and teamwork.

In the end, building Dream Ranch has never been about perfection or ease. It’s been about endurance, faith, and growth. Every challenge we’ve faced became a chapter in a much bigger story, a story of how obstacles can refine purpose, deepen gratitude, and strengthen the belief that with God’s guidance and a unified team, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
At Dream Ranch, we believe that faith and risk often walk hand in hand. Every great success story begins with a moment of uncertainty, a point where you have to step out on faith and trust that the vision God placed in your heart will come to life.

Both Sheri De Wet and I have taken tremendous risks throughout our journeys. From starting Dream Ranch over two decades ago with little more than determination and belief, to expanding into new industries and modernizing operations in the face of economic uncertainty, risk has been a constant companion. There were moments when the odds didn’t favor us, when the market was unpredictable, and when we had to make bold decisions without guarantees. But those moments became the defining ones, times that tested our resilience, refined our focus, and ultimately revealed our strength.

For me personally, risk has never been about recklessness, it’s about discernment, preparation, and faith. Every major leap I’ve taken has come after prayerful reflection, strategic planning, and countless hours of research and study. I believe in taking calculated risks, minimizing as much potential downside as possible through preparation, knowledge, and insight. Before I make a move, I make sure I understand every angle, every variable, and every possible outcome. That foundation allows me to move forward confidently, even when others hesitate.

Whether it was stepping into public service as the first African American councilman in the history of Cresson, Texas, leaving the stability of corporate America to lead Dream Ranch to new heights, or branching out into construction, media, and real estate, each risk carried weight, purpose, and a higher calling.

At Dream Ranch, we see risk as a necessary ingredient for growth. Playing it safe rarely leads to transformation. Every time we’ve chosen to move forward despite uncertainty, whether introducing new product categories, investing in technology, or empowering new young leaders within our organization, we’ve discovered new strength, new opportunity, and new blessings.

I’ve learned that real success isn’t just measured by what you gain, but by what you’re willing to put on the line to honor your purpose. Faith gives us the courage to take the right risks, not for profit alone, but for progress, legacy, and impact.

As I often say, “If God brings you to it, He’ll bring you through it.” Faith gives us the courage to take the right risks, to move with purpose, and to see beyond the fear of failure. Faith without works is dead. So while I have faith in God, I also put in the work, doing the research, making the calls, and preparing for every possibility. And as I have faith in Him, all fear leaves me. I can’t truly trust God and still be fearful of stepping out on faith.

At the end of the day, I’ve come to understand that faith isn’t the absence of risk, it’s the confidence to move forward despite it. And when you move with that kind of faith and purpose, every risk becomes a stepping stone toward something greater.
