Exploring Life & Business with Yulonda Norman of Fathom Realty/ Own Your Own

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yulonda Norman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My Real Estate Story

My name is Yulonda Norman, and real estate has been my heartbeat for nearly a decade. I stepped into this industry in 2015, earning my real estate license in Texas, and from the moment I handed over my first set of keys, I knew this work was my purpose. In 2022, I expanded my reach and became a licensed Realtor® in Georgia. By 2024, through dedication, late nights of studying, and a true love for this business, I earned the title of Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Over the years, I’ve committed myself to being not just a Realtor®, but a resource — someone my clients can trust, lean on, and learn from. That’s why I pursued advanced designations like the ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative), which shows my specialized training in guiding buyers through every step of their homeownership journey. I also earned the PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor) designation, giving me the skills to price homes accurately and strategically so my clients always have a competitive edge.

Real estate is more than contracts and closings for me — it’s my passion. It’s the joy in a family’s eyes when they realize the keys in their hand represent stability. It’s watching clients become homeowners, investors, and legacy builders. I believe wholeheartedly that homeownership is the cornerstone of generational wealth, and I’m honored every time someone trusts me to lead them on that path.

I show up educated, prepared, and committed because my clients deserve nothing less. Helping people open the door to their future is not just what I do — it’s who I am.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My Biggest Obstacle in Real Estate

One of the biggest obstacles I’ve faced in real estate is learning how to separate my human side from the emotional weight that often comes with this business. I care deeply about people, and my natural desire is to help, support, and give clients everything they want. However, real estate frequently intersects with some of life’s most difficult moments — selling a family home after the loss of a loved one, navigating a divorce, or making major transitions during stressful times.

These situations can be emotionally draining because I genuinely feel for my clients and the circumstances they are facing. Over time, I’ve had to learn how to balance empathy with professionalism. My role requires me to remain steady, level-headed, and solution-focused, even when emotions are high. It’s an ongoing growth area, but it has made me stronger, more grounded, and even more committed to serving my clients with compassion, while still delivering the expertise and guidance they rely on.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fathom Realty/ Own Your Own?

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something People Find Surprising About My Role in Real Estate

Something people often find surprising about my role in real estate is how complex and emotionally charged this work can be. Many assume that my job is simply helping people buy and sell homes — and honestly, I used to think the same thing. But I quickly learned there is so much more involved.

Real estate is deeply emotional. Every transaction represents a major life decision, and with that can come stress, anxiety, excitement, or even heartbreak. Whether clients are purchasing their first home, selling a property filled with memories, or navigating difficult transitions, the emotional weight behind each situation is real.

What surprises people most is that my job isn’t just about contracts and closings — it’s about guiding people through one of the most meaningful and sensitive moments of their lives with professionalism, patience, and care.
