Today we’d like to introduce you to Zariah Id-Deen.
Hi Zariah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have always been gregarious; I was very outgoing, creative, and curious as a child. The beauty and workings of the world fascinated me, so naturally, I took an interest in what I like to call a concoction of activities, including Acting, Modeling, gymnastics, and dance, to name a few. My fascination with the world and its nooks and crannies has heavily influenced the woman I have grown to become. In the same way, I had a concoction of interest as a child, as an adult that still holds to this day. As a child, I felt I could have multiple dreams and pursue them, and that is reflected in my career choices. Today, that gregarious little child is still fascinated and believes in having more than one dream and achieving every one of them but now understands better what suits. I have come to know that I love providing people not only with material things but also experiences that can be gained via physical things.
Real estate was one of my first adult long-term fascinations, even though I was introduced to it as a teenager by a close family friend who worked heavily in the field. The idea of helping people find their dream homes, a place that can become their personal paradise, intrigued me. So much so that I decided to take a leap year from school and work towards getting my real estate license. I got my license four years ago, and to this day, I fall more in love with what I do, so I continue to fine-tune and discover ways to better provide people with the best service possible when fulfilling their real estate needs. In addition, I am continually working on gaining as much knowledge as possible to open my brokerage firm to provide the best real estate service in the state.
As I mentioned, helping people find their dream homes and seeing the joy it brings them brings an indescribable sort of satisfaction. In my search for ways to better apply myself in the real estate sector, my passion for creativity has created another dream of mine, interior designing. For me, Interior design is a lot like fashion; only you can translate your vision into a functional space on a larger scale. The opportunity to use my creativity, especially in my work, is invaluable. I had the opportunity to design an Airbnb, and the process from ideation to creation was an unforgettable experience that assured me that I was on the right path. I loved seeing my vision materialize before my eyes.
Another dream of mine is Modeling. Modeling has always been a passion of mine. I have had the privilege to explore it in different aspects, from modeling runway and editorial, to print, and even the experience of going to my favorite boutique in Miami, trying on the clothes, and Modeling in front of a mirror is always exhilarating.
If I am to summarize my dreams which I am currently running towards, I say currently because I am still that gregarious little child with dreams waiting in the future. But for now, my hope for the near future is to make a name for myself in the Interior Design space, in addition to opening my Real Estate company. Also, to become a high fashion model on the cover of the most popular magazines.
I want to tell all the youngsters out there that there is no cap to the number of dreams you can have; yes, you can do it all and ensure to always take time to experience life beyond your familiar environment. I am opportune to frequently travel and the beauty, colors, and cultures from around the world give me valuable knowledge to make my dreams even more beautiful.
Also, I am a foodie with a capital F, and interacting with local eateries and enjoying the distinct flavor of each new corner of the world is one of my favorite things to do. My love for food, good service, and a cool ambiance intrigued me so much that, from my story, you can guess it, I decided to bring that to more people. As a result, I am now a part-owner of a Caribbean Restaurant in Miami, Florida.
I Want to end with a quote I love by APJ Abdul Kalam “You have to dream before your dreams can come true”.
Thank you.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
On my journey to become a Real Estate Agent there were definitely some challenges I had to overcome. It took two tries before finally passing the exams on my third attempt. Though not passing my first two times, I learned a few valuable lessons along the way I’d like to share with anyone looking to become a realtor. 1) Never give up. 2) Be consistent in your studies. 3) Be fully prepared before taking the required exams.
The toughest part was finding the perfect place for an Airbnb in the beginning. After finding location all there was left to do was furnish and utilize the space in the best possible way.
During my extremely bashful moments, being the center of attention was frightening. Growing up my mother was a single mom and we couldn’t afford the extracurricular activities. If I was able to get more Considering the fact that I didn’t get the enrichments in modeling I’d hoped for, I feel pretty confident about my talents.
Becoming a restaurant owner, I learned the many parts it takes to make things run smoothly. Some struggles we came across in the process were taking over a business that was run inefficiently, having to go abroad to find a chef, and remodeling.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
