We’re looking forward to introducing you to Faryn Schwartz . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Faryn , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
When I get away on a solo road trip, spend time hiking, camping, or even renting a cabin, that’s when I’m able to completely lose track of time. Being in nature allows me to clear my mind, renew, and truly find myself again. That space to recharge and quiet my mind is essential, because it lets me come back feeling grounded and rejuvenated—so I can give 200% to my clients, who deserve all of that energy, focus, and passion from me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My journey in the wellness, health, and fitness industry began nearly three decades ago. What’s kept me here isn’t just the workouts — it’s witnessing the transformation when people discover they’re more empowered and capable than they ever imagined. That’s what inspired me to create GetFitWithFaryn, an inclusive wellness haven where everyone, no matter their background, abilities, or starting point, feels supported in building confidence, finding grounding, and creating lasting change.
What makes my brand unique is that it’s built around real people and real lives — not perfection or quick fixes. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to begin, so I design approachable programs that gradually build a strong foundation and allow growth at each person’s own pace. Right now, I’m especially excited to expand my digital offerings, with all-level fitness programs that meet people where they are today and help them grow with confidence.
My goal has always been to remove the overwhelm from wellness and show people that strength, health, and confidence aren’t reserved for a select few — you belong here.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory wasn’t so much about feeling powerful as it was about feeling joy — and that joy came through dance. From a very young age, movement just made sense to me. It felt natural, like a language my body already knew. I remember being in the studio and feeling completely free, energized, and alive in a way I couldn’t explain. It wasn’t about being the best or doing things perfectly; it was simply about the joy of moving and expressing myself.
That joy has never left me. It taught me early on that movement is more than exercise — it’s connection, expression, and a way of coming home to yourself. That’s the experience I want for my clients: not just to work out, but to rediscover the joy of moving and feeling good in their own bodies. Movement for joy!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are enough. For much of my life, I searched for approval — from family, peers, even myself — as if someone else’s validation could finally make me feel worthy. What I didn’t realize then was that true confidence doesn’t come from outside; it comes from within.
It took years of growing, stumbling, therapy, and learning to finally understand that my value doesn’t depend on external validation. It didn’t happen overnight, but that shift changed a lot for me. It allowed me to show up more authentically in my life, and it’s the reminder I want every client to carry with them: you don’t have to earn approval to belong in wellness — you already belong. You are already enough.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie the fitness industry tells is that harder, bigger, faster is better — or that there’s a quick fix for lasting health. Those ideas have left so many people feeling burned out, defeated, and like they’ll never measure up. I believe real wellness isn’t about extremes or chasing perfection; it’s about building sustainable habits that help each individual feel capable, confident, and energized in everyday life.
I’m also committed to changing the narrative that fitness is only for a select few. Wellness should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, no matter where they’re starting from. That’s why I design programs that remove the overwhelm, meet people where they are today, and empower them to grow at their own pace. Because wellness, health, and fitness isn’t about fitting into someone else’s mold — it’s about thriving in your own.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’ve had a relationship with movement from a very young age, starting with dance. Movement always felt natural to me — almost like a language I understood without needing to be taught. Over time, that understanding grew into a gift: not just moving myself, but helping others connect with their own bodies in ways that feel approachable and empowering.
I don’t know if I’d say I was “born” to do this, but I do believe I was meant to. I’ve discovered that I have a natural gift for connection and for working with the body in ways that feel intuitive. Leaning into that gift has guided me toward this work.
For me, fitness and wellness has never been just a career — it’s a calling. It’s where movement, teaching, and genuine human connection come together to help people feel more confident and more at home in themselves. Helping people move, grow, and thrive in their own bodies is where my purpose and passion meet — and that’s how I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
