Hailee Moore on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Hailee Moore shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hailee, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Running has been my joy outside of work. I’m lucky to run with a wonderful local community and close friends—it’s my way to clear my head and reset. Plus, I like to think it lets me ‘taste’ a little more of what I cook (and enjoy!)—a perfect balance of sweat and savor.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Hailee Moore, founder of Simply Hailee, a chef-led brand rooted in vibrant, seasonal cooking. Simply Hailee originally started as a private dining and catering company, but over the past year, we’ve evolved into a high-end meal delivery service focused on making beautifully prepared, nourishing meals more accessible for busy families and individuals in the DFW area.

My background is rooted in classical French culinary training, but my personal food philosophy is centered on simplicity, bold flavors, and balance. I believe meals should be as joyful and comforting as they are nourishing—which is exactly what I try to deliver with each plate.

This year, I also launched 5ive Plates (www.5iveplates.com), a companion site to Simply Hailee. It’s a curated recipe library that celebrates local produce, approachable techniques, and globally inspired meals. It’s designed for home cooks looking to bring more creativity and confidence into their kitchens.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to incorporate my passion for nutrition, wellness, and endurance training into the mix—especially with my background in marathon and ultra-marathon running. I’ve learned firsthand how powerful food can be for both recovery and performance, and I’m excited to share more in that space soon.

At the heart of everything I do is a love for food that feels good, tastes amazing, and brings people together.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that’s shaped how I see myself most is with my sisters, Mindy and Ashlee. They’re my built-in truth-tellers—brutally honest when needed, endlessly supportive always, and somehow still the funniest people I know. We skip the gossip, don’t meddle unless it’s a code red, and keep each other grounded in the best way. They remind me who I am—loudly, lovingly, and usually while laughing.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Exhale. You don’t have to do it all at once. Trust that you’re becoming exactly who you need to be. Give yourself some grace, eat the good food, take the nap, and remember—life’s not a checklist, it’s meant to be savored.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my parents. They weren’t perfect—but they were kind, fair (most of the time!), and genuinely fun to be around. Our house was always the one where everyone gathered—loud, full of laughter, and never short on snacks or libations. They showed up for people and made everyone feel welcome. Their character showed in the way they lived: generous, consistent, and always ready to make room at the table.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing what I love to do—not because someone told me to, but because it’s always felt like home. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be in the food and hospitality world. Over time, that passion has evolved into something more intentional: creating top-tier service and really good food that’s still affordable and approachable.

Travel—and a few rare moments flying first-class—taught me something important. I remember how it made me feel: seen, cared for, special. That level of hospitality stuck with me. It showed me that memorable experiences come from the little details, and I’ve carried that into how I cook and serve. Everyone deserves that kind of care, even on a Tuesday night at home.

My food philosophy is all about celebrating simplicity, seasonality, and flavor. I focus on ingredients that shine on their own, enhanced by thoughtful combinations, herbs, and seasoning.

Eat simple. Eat pretty. Eat seasonal.
Beautiful food. Honest flavors. Hospitality that feels like home.
