

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alana Lawrence.
Hi Alana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My mom and her sisters inspired me to begin experimenting with food when I was a little girl. I found myself coming home from grade school and going straight to the kitchen. I always wanted one of my aunts to open a restaurant, but I guess it was destined for me to be the one to do it. I moved to Dallas when I was 23 years old. I began culinary school once I moved here but shortly after, the pandemic struck. I took the opportunity to begin my chef journey and Ouu Lala’s was born.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Building clientele has been the hardest part since I recently moved. Luckily I’m growing my network and I’ve been meeting some really great people.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a chef and I specialize in catering, fine dining, private dinners, and meal prepping. I’m mostly known for my weekly meal services, where customers can order one of my weekly specials with the option of pick-up or takeout. My dinner options range from southern cooking to high-quality steaks and lobster.
What does success mean to you?
Success is reaping the benefits of doing the things I enjoy the most.
