Hidden Gems: Meet Alexandra Biagas and Haley Sumner of Bare Aesthetics Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Biagas and Haley Sumner.

Hi Alexandra and Haley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Haley and I are from Yorktown, Virginia and have been best friends since high school. We hit it off in choir class and the rest was history! After the COVID pandemic, we decided to take a leap of faith and move to Texas to pursue a career in aesthetic medicine. This dream led us to opening our own medical spa rooted in the foundations of ethics, education, and client-focused care in an inviting, comfortable space. We recognized the need for a more personalized experience to cater to the specific concerns of our clients. Vulnerability is a major factor in the world of aesthetic medicine, therefore our goal is for our clients to entrust us with their concerns/insecurities, in order to create a customized treatment plan that merges the client’s desired outcome with the expertise of the provider.

“I’ve always been a confident, optimistic person. So, when I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease– a debilitating autoimmune condition—living my life in and out of a hospital bed—I felt like I lost a large part of who I was. The upbeat, self-assured woman I once was, felt so out of reach as I chased my old body and the old me. Aesthetics was my saving grace as I learned to cope with my illness. I learned that I don’t need to be the old me to be happy, confident, and fulfilled; I now know that that can look different. When my health recovered a few years later, I was physically and mentally liberated with this unstoppable force to go live, like really live to the fullest! That’s when I decided to start Bare Aesthetics, a business born from a journey of self-love, love for others, and love for who you’re becoming. Beauty, after all isn’t something to chase; it’s something we get to embrace in ourselves and share with others. I’m blessed I get to do that every day with my best friend.” – Alexandra

“I started my career in orthopedics as a physician assistant, and I was fortunate enough to transition and find my passion in aesthetics to make my dreams come true! I wanted to pursue a role where I could really develop and nurture a relationship with my patients to help them achieve their goals. People put so much trust in your expertise, and I love being able to deliver personalized care to what people are going through physically, mentally, or emotionally. As a woman who struggled with self-confidence my whole life, I felt called to enter a space where I could help motivate and empower others to love themselves and embrace their unique inner and outer beauty. Throughout my medical education and aesthetics experience, I have learned how multifaceted the aesthetics specialty truly is. There are numerous opportunities to learn new tools and techniques that can be used to deliver customized, natural results that align with the client’s aesthetic goals as well as provide relief from burdensome medical conditions. I want to help every single person who walks through our doors to celebrate their individual beauty and feel like no matter what skin type, color, or concern they have, that their skin will be loved and treated with a program made just for them.” – Haley

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“One of the biggest challenges or lessons we’re learning right now is, ironically the importance of self-care. We’re both go-getters, and opening a new business has been the greatest, most rewarding experience of our lives, but it’s come with long hours, continuous training, and event FOMO. Our business has grown so quickly—and for that, we’re truly thankful—we’re getting to a point now where we have to remind ourselves to take some “me” time. In the evenings, I usually take my twin poodles for a long walk, then wrap up my day with my skincare routine, a new show, and a prayer. After our soft opening event, Haley and I were fortunate enough to take the time for some much needed relaxation at our favorite spa in Dallas!” – Alexandra

“Even five minutes to Facetime my nephew and family in Virginia, write in a gratitude journal, or pray before bed, has a truly remarkable effect on my state of mind. I always feel so refreshed and rejuvenated, and I know when I take time for myself, I’m able to be more present and show up more for others.” – Haley

What matters most to you?
We want people to LOVE being bare. Bare to us means…

“Bare means feeling confident in your own skin, not just your outward appearance but your ability to love your truest self and show it to others. It means taking care of yourself and all aspects that encompass who you are: mind, body, soul, spirit.” -Haley

“Beauty, after all, isn’t something to chase; it’s something we get to embrace in ourselves and share with others. The name came to me in my personal journey to feel beautiful in my bare skin, in my body, and in myself. So, Haley and I worked together to figure out how to bridge that gap for people. What makes the bare you, you, is all the natural components of yourself that come together to make a whole—from your bones to your muscles, your tissues, and your skin. A lot of people will wait until they are seeing signs of aging or undesirable traits about their outward appearance to make a change. We promote measures that preserve and enhance your natural beauty so people can feel like the truest version of themselves.” – Alexandra
