Today we’d like to introduce you to Alondra Mitchell.
Alondra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, my name is Alondra Swint Mitchell, and I am owner of Street Eats Catering & food truck. I’ve always loved to cook but I decided to take it more seriously about 4 years ago. I started cooking for coworkers and family members which grew into me having a customer base and the confidence to start my own food truck.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done actually. I had to replace the engine in my truck about a year after purchasing it but that was only problem number 1000. It has been a tough road with very long hours.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Street Eats Catering?
I specialize in Memphis-style wings with A Mississippi kick! Me and my mom call ourselves the “Memphisippi cook” haha we also do U.S. Raised Catfish, Fried Shrimp with soulful sides like Mac and cheese, candied yams, and green beans!
My truck has fed the homeless every year for the three years I have been in business as well as contributing to our community around the holidays for those less fortunate.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
Hmmm role of luck. Like I said it’s been a rough road so there has definitely been more bad luck than good, but I’d like to think that it wasn’t all bad me and my family have really had some great times and experiences as well
Pricing:
- 35,000 I’m selling the truck actually but of course, I will still cater
