Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Hoyle.
Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really starts with a love for people and creating beauty around them. I spent over a decade in the food and beverage industry, bartending and learning how to make people feel seen and welcomed. But it wasn’t until I met my mentor, Rene Johnson, a floral designer in Houston, that I truly discovered what felt like a calling. She didn’t just teach me how to design with flowers, she passed down the heart behind it. It was about storytelling, empathy, and capturing emotion in something living.
When I moved to Dallas, I became the lead designer at a floral shop in Rowlett, and that’s where the vision really started taking shape. I wanted more than just to design arrangements, I wanted to create a space where people felt peace. A place that reminded them of what’s still good in the world. Bloomhouse was born from that desire; to build something rooted in beauty, community, and intentionality.
My husband and I dreamed together about how we could merge both of our passions: his love for coffee and my heart for flowers. We took a leap of faith, opened Bloomhouse Flowers & Coffee, and committed to doing things differently. We want people to walk in and feel something; like they can exhale, like they’re home. That’s been the heart behind every step of the journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road but a meaningful one. There’s something about building something from the ground up that reveals your character, your faith, and your limits all at once.
One of the biggest struggles was simply learning how to run a business while in the business. I didn’t come from a background in business management I came from creating, from connecting with people. So learning things like pricing, logistics, marketing, and payroll was a real challenge.
There were seasons we had no idea how we’d pay rent or make payroll, and days when I’d question if we’d made a mistake trying to do something so out of the box. We’ve also had to navigate growing pains, burnout, and just the emotional weight of pouring your whole heart into something that doesn’t always give instant return.
But I’ll say this: even in the hard, we’ve never felt alone. We’ve seen grace show up through our community, through quiet moments in the shop, and through the little reminders that what we’re doing matters. It’s not just about flowers or coffee, it’s about creating a place where people feel seen, and that kind of work is always going to come with resistance. But it’s worth it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bloomhouse Flowers & Coffee?
Bloomhouse Flowers & Coffee is a floral and coffee brand rooted in a deep desire to create beauty beyond aesthetics—beauty that restores peace invites people to slow down, and reminds them that they matter. While we sell flowers and coffee, our heart has never been centered on just being a retail space. From the beginning, Bloomhouse was meant to be a refuge—a place where people walk in and feel something shift, a place where people feel seen.
Right now, we are primarily a boutique floral studio. We create fresh arrangements that range from everyday bouquets to custom designs for life’s bigger moments: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, memorials, and more. Our style leans to a modern garden, and we’re known for pieces that feel intentional and emotional. They don’t just look pretty they say something. That might be a quiet “I see you,” a joyful “celebrating with you,” or even a tender “you’re not alone.” We carry that same care into things like our grab-and-go flowers, seasonal designs, and specialty arrangements in mugs or keepsakes that make each gift feel personal.
On the coffee side, we’ve recently launched our own specialty coffee beans roasted with the same level of thought and care as our floral work. We aren’t a full-service coffee shop yet, but we’re laying the foundation. Every single origin we offer is tied to a story, a moment, or a truth we believe in. We’re building toward something more: a future space where flowers and coffee live side by side in an atmosphere of warmth, creativity, and rest.
But what sets Bloomhouse apart, and what I want people to understand most, is that we’re not just a flower shop or a coffee brand. We’re building something deeply human. Every decision we make is driven by our desire to create peace in the everyday. Whether through a bouquet that speaks louder than words, a bag of coffee that feels like a ritual of rest, or a kind word shared across the counter, we care about the experience.
Our brand is built around intentionality, belonging, and sacred moments, even in the ordinary. We want to be known for how we treat people, for the stories we help tell through flowers, and for the spaces of pause we help create in a fast-moving world. We believe there is value in creating things that don’t rush, in paying attention, and in crafting beauty with a purpose. And we believe business can and should not be personal, relational, and restorative.
So while we’re excited about what we offer, we’re most proud of the atmosphere we’re building—one where people can breathe again, one where beauty and kindness collide. That’s Bloomhouse.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
For me, staying grounded is everything. Running Bloomhouse is more than a job—it’s a heart thing. It takes a lot of emotional energy, so I have to stay connected to what fills me up. Spiritually, that means time in the prayer room. That space keeps me sane and centered, reminding me I’m not building this alone.
We also regularly listen to a few podcasts that really speak into our lives and help us keep the main thing the main thing: The UPPERROOM Podcast, The Braveheart Podcast, and The Handlebar Podcast. Each of them brings a different layer—teaching, encouragement, even challenge—but they all point us back to Jesus, which is where we find rest and clarity in the chaos.
Outside of that, I love watching personal vloggers who feel real. One, in particular, is @lexi.lexi.lexi. Her honesty and softness remind me I’m not the only one trying to balance life, creativity, and growth. It’s not business advice or strategy—it’s more like having a friend in your corner when you need to be reminded you’re doing okay.
I think that’s the theme for me when it comes to resources: it’s less about formulas and more about connection. Whether that’s spiritual, creative, or emotional, I need voices that bring peace and perspective. That’s what helps me do my best—in work and life.
