Hidden Gems: Meet Amy Wright of The Station Fitness & Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Wright.

Hi Amy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Back in 2013, I was overweight and knew I needed to make a change. I decided to take control of my health and joined a fitness class — and that’s where my journey began. Over the years, through hard work and consistency, I lost the weight and discovered a passion for fitness that completely changed my life.

I wanted to inspire others to do the same — to feel strong, confident, and proud of their bodies. So, I took a leap of faith and found a building in Trenton, Texas. I got the equipment, put in the work, and in December 2020 — right in the middle of COVID — I opened the doors to our gym.

A lot of people thought I was crazy to start a business during such an uncertain time, but I knew people needed an outlet. We’d all been stuck at home, and I wanted to create a space where people could get out, move their bodies, and take care of themselves again.

Fast forward to today, I’m proud to say we now have a gym and two nutrition shops in two different cities. Every day, I get to help people become the best version of themselves — and that’s what drives me. ❤️

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a pretty smooth road, but owning a business and working for yourself is not for the weary! There have been times where we have wondered if we would be able to make payroll, and then there were times we had plenty!

As you know, we’re big fans of The Station Fitness & Nutrition. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Station Fitness & Nutrition is more than just a gym — it’s a piece of our town’s history. Located in the old fire station, we kept the spirit of the building alive by blending the classic firehouse feel with an old-school gym atmosphere. Our logo even honors those roots, featuring the traditional fire station design with a fitness twist — complete with weights and grit.

Our 2,000-square-foot facility is simple, functional, and built for those who love a real workout environment. With roll-up doors, no air conditioning, and an open 24/7 key fob access system, it’s a place where hard work happens on your schedule.

What truly sets us apart is how we treat our members — like family. We’re locally owned and community-driven, proud to offer a space where everyone feels welcome and supported.

We opened our doors during uncertain times, but through determination, loyalty, and the strength of our members, The Station Fitness & Nutrition continues to grow strong — just like the people who call it home.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is that every person who walks through our doors is treated with kindness and respect. It takes zero effort to be kind, yet it can make all the difference in someone’s day. In a world that can sometimes feel harsh or divided, I believe a little kindness goes a long way — and that’s something we strive to share every day.
