Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel L..
Hi Angel L., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and in the 1970s, I relocated to Kansas City. Moving between two worlds—two cultures, two languages—shaped the way I see people, community, and fairness. Even after leaving the island, Puerto Rico never stopped feeling like home. I returned often, and during summers I worked construction. It was demanding, hands-on work that taught me discipline and humility, and it also helped me stay connected to my roots and keep my Spanish strong.
Living in both English- and Spanish-speaking communities gave me an early understanding of what happens when someone doesn’t have the tools or language to stand up for themselves. I saw how easily people can be dismissed or misunderstood, not because they’re wrong, but because they aren’t being heard. Over time, that reality became personal to me. I didn’t just want a job; I wanted a career where I could be the voice for people who needed someone in their corner.
That desire is what ultimately led me to law and to personal injury work. I’ve always believed that when someone is hurt—physically, emotionally, financially—they deserve more than a process. They deserve an advocate who will fight for them and guide them through one of the most difficult chapters of their life. Today, as a partner at a personal injury firm, I still carry those early lessons with me: work hard, stay grounded, and never lose sight of the person behind every case.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a straight path. Starting over on the mainland came with a learning curve: new environments, new expectations, and moments where I had to push through feeling like an outsider. Early in my career, the pace and pressure of the legal world were intense, and the responsibility of representing real people with real struggles is something you never take lightly.
Trust isn’t given in this line of work, it’s earned over time, and there are hard lessons along the way. But those experiences built resilience, sharpened my perspective, and made me more committed to showing up for clients who need someone steady and relentless on their side.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Angel Reyes & Associates is a Texas personal injury law firm dedicated to helping people rebuild after serious accidents. We represent individuals and families across the DFW Metroplex who have been injured in car and truck crashes—from everyday collisions to complex 18-wheeler and commercial vehicle cases—as well as catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims when the stakes are life-changing.
Our team brings decades of combined experience and a history of fighting for Texans on a large scale, but what truly defines our firm is how we pair strong resources with genuine personal care. We take the time to understand each client’s situation, stay proactive with communication, and guide people through the legal process in a way that feels clear and manageable, not confusing or overwhelming. At the same time, we are relentless in pursuing results. We build cases thoroughly, push back when insurance companies try to downplay injuries, and fight for the full compensation our clients deserve.
From a brand perspective, we’re most proud of the trust we’ve earned and the accessibility we offer. We provide free consultations, operate on a “no fee unless we win” basis, and make it easy for people to get help without adding financial pressure. We’re also proud to be a bilingual firm that serves clients in both English and Spanish, because no one should feel unheard or unsupported due to a language barrier.
What we want DFW readers to know is simple: if you’ve been injured, you don’t have to take on insurance companies or corporations by yourself. Our job is to stand between our clients and the pressure, protect their rights, and help them move forward with strength, clarity, and dignity.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending my summers back in Puerto Rico working construction. It wasn’t a vacation in the traditional sense, my days started early, the work was physical, and the heat was no joke, but it’s something I look back on with a lot of pride.
Those summers taught me discipline in a way nothing else could. I learned how to show up on time, work hard, and take responsibility for what was in front of me. I also picked up real, practical skills: how to work with my hands, solve problems, and be part of a team that depended on each other. More than anything, it kept me connected to where I came from and reminded me that character is built through consistent effort. That experience shaped me, and those lessons have stayed with me for life.
Pricing:
- No Fee Unless We Win-
- We work on a contingency-fee basis, which means there are no fees unless we win. Clients don’t pay anything upfront, and they only owe attorney’s fees if we successfully recover compensation for them. That structure lets people get strong legal help without added financial stress, and it keeps our focus on maximizing their recovery.
