Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Watten. Them and their team share their story with us below:
The dream to start Collins + Conley began when Ashley and Sarah were pregnant with their first babies (Collins and Conley)! These best friends turned sister-in-law wanted to create a boutique where moms (and grandmas and aunts and everyone!) could shop a curated collection of baby and children’s clothes and accessories. Meanwhile, Ashley’s parents, Craig & Denise, were also thinking right along the same lines as they were attempting to shop for their grandbabies! Collins + Conley launched online only in June of 2019 with everyone’s favorite baby and children’s brands! In June of 2021, they opened a brick-and-mortar location in the Shops at Clearfork where they have not only been able to provide quality products to their customers but have been able to foster a sense of community for Fort Worth mamas. Their heart is to not only sell the cutest items for your littles but to also create a space where you (and those littles) feel welcomed and at home!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any business owner has had a smooth road through COVID. We launched about 7 or 8 months before COVID hit which majorly impacted everything we had planned for 2020. All of the in-person pop-ups and events we were counting on were canceled and we were having to figure out how to continue to get our name out there while being stuck at home! Thankfully, through what can only be the Lord’s provision, we made it through and were offered the opportunity to do a short term pop up at The Shops at Clearfork in March and April – the response was incredible and that lead to the long-term pop up that we are currently doing there!
We’ve been impressed with Collins + Conley, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a family-owned baby + children’s boutique offering a curated collection of clothing, accessories, gifts, and more for the little ones in your life!
