Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanne Main.
Hi Breanne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Hello, I started this business ten years ago as a way to make a little extra to help cover my middle son who has special needs mounting medical bills, and contribute to my family in general. I soon went through a divorce after 13 years of marriage and became a full time single mom to my wonderful three boys. At that point, I went back into teaching special education in Frisco. I’ve been asked so many times how I had the endurance to care for my sweet students while having a son with severe disabilities, and my answer is always that each of them, whether home or in the classroom have taught me how to love them better.
At that point, my business became a necessity to keep me and my boys afloat. I am blessed with an amazing circle of community and church family who encouraged and believed in me. I would teach during the day and rush home and work my business in the evenings. My clientele has grown immensely over the years, and much of that time it was purely controlled chaos of teaching, being a single mom, trying to love on my community, and build my business. During all of this, my clients became friends and extension of family.
Fast forward, I am now happily remarried, and we’ve added a little girl to the brood of boys! I recently took a step back from teaching this year to focus on our daughter, to be more present in all of my boys extracurriculars (I’ll have a senior next year), grow my business even further by adding extra services and opening up my business hours.
Being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. I don’t know if my clients truly know how much their support of me, (not just the monetary although appreciated) during the toughest years of my life, gave me a sense of hope and belief in myself. It breathed life into my tired soul.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Like I previously hit on, being a single mom for a very large portion of this and juggling a full-time job and working my business in the evenings and weekends while supporting 3 boys at times felt impossible. Also, just the changes in business climate over the years, Covid, etc. There were times during Covid where I wondered if Be Bronzed would continue, but here I am! Growing stronger than ever because of my amazing clients and family’s support and belief in me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Be Bronzed specializes in custom airbrush tanning for all skin types, shapes, and sizes! I use only top of the line solutions that are gluten free, paraben free, peanut free as well as cruelty free. I specialize in Bridal, Competitive Cheer, Competitive Dance, Contouring and everyday wear custom tans.
There is a true science behind airbrush tanning that many don’t realize such as determining skin type, undertones, blending of solution formulas to truly say I offer custom tans and provide the best outcome for their specific skin type. Proper techniques, offering setting powders of choice, blending with brushes, certifications in sterilization of equipment as well as courses and certifications in being able to spot abnormal skin spots/moles, etc. I am able to partner with my clients to ensure they know about these areas as I may be the only one literally looking at these areas on their bodies that they themselves cannot see. Early detection is key!
Ultimately is about providing an experience. I want my clients to come in as clients and leave as friends. I want them to enjoy their time with me and feel as though they’re getting a moment to themselves, to have some self care and be pampered. I want them to feel beautiful about themselves when they leave my doors and nothing makes my heart soar more than the happy messages and reviews I get exclaiming not only did they love their tan, but they felt beautiful. Don’t we all just want those sweet moments where we feel beautiful!? There’s so much pressure to be perfect, and here with Be Bronzed you don’t need to be perfect or ashamed of your body. We are all beautiful in God’s eyes and if a little tan can aid in that, I am absolutely here for it! My clients think I’m helping them, but they are the ones blessing me.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My boys, even at a young age they were my biggest supporters. My community of girlfriends who believed in me and spread the word. My husband who encouraged me to take that leap of faith this past year as well as Mentors along the way in this industry near and far. Ultimately my clients, truly. They sing my praises and refer me, and every time my name is mentioned through a referral it still makes my heart so happy. I feel incredibly humbled by their support of me. If my story could do anything i pray it encourages others who have a dream to know that can do it. If I can go from a single mom trying to make ends meet to now having my own studio and working this business full-time, anything is possible. Believe in the desires God places on your heart, surround yourself with people who build you up and have belief in yourself. Never stop dreaming.
