Hi Bronjelyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started doing hair as a kid. I always did friends, family, & my own hair. My first love was dance believe it or not. Once I made it to college, I kept changing my major. My dream of being a choreographer was shot down by a family member. She told me that dancers didn’t make money and that I should consider a career in the medical field. I tried it, but it didn’t interest me. With me always getting compliments on my hair while walking around campus, I decided to go to cosmetology school! While there, I came to the realization that hairstyling is another form of art and I loved it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building and growing my brand in Miami for six years and leaving it all behind to start fresh in Dallas has definitely been a challenge. Gaining clientele has been my struggle, but I’m not giving up.
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

Pretty Dope Designs is a brand that represents women that knows what they want & are not afraid to go out there and get it. I’m a licensed cosmetologist that specializes in Extensions, Wigs, & Faux Locs.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Everyone that I have ever worked in a salon with has played a role in where I am today; whether if it was being taught a new skill, witnessing/learning life lessons, or words of encouragement. My supporters as well has contributed to where & who I am today. A few of them saw things in me that I never saw in myself.
