Hidden Gems: Meet Clyde Parrish of Parrish House Rockwall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clyde Parrish.

Hi Clyde, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Parrish House was designed and built by Clyde and Susan Parrish. It’s their desire to provide a unique atmosphere for guests to celebrate their special occasion while being surrounded by those they love.
We offer a distinctly different experience by allowing you the freedom to make your event your own. Whether it’s a small or large gathering, our venue will provide the perfect backdrop for your special day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Susan comes from a medical background and I come from a construction background. We didn’t have any idea about running an event center. Which may have been a blessing. We wanted to offer an affordable place to celebrate an event. We wanted to it be fun, enjoyable and stress free. By most part we’ve accomplished that. Our biggest challenge was establishing rules for the venue. Being said, it seemed like every time we had an event we had to create a new rule. Growth was another challenge, we didn’t expect to become so popular so quick. We’ve had to adjust as we grew. A vendor once told me that we were too nice and that we’d change. I told them I didn’t think that would happen. I’ve always been told if you like what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life. Currently we love what we do!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We invite you to experience the perfect blend of elegance and rustic charm, making your special day truly unforgettable. Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate event, quinceanera, or celebrating a milestone, come and create beautiful memories at our house, The Parrish House Rockwall.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’m not sure about what the industry outlook is. I don’t follow the trends of what the venue industry does. I didn’t snoop other venues. Our goal is to offer our guest a unique experience, I want them to tell their friends and families about us. I want to succeed on our merits not what some forecaster says about trends.
