Today we’d like to introduce you to Dilpreet Singh.
Dilpreet, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I lived first 22 years of my life in North India where I had few great working experiences after I graduated with an engineering degree in 2013. However when I received a scholarship I decided to move to United States in August 2015 to pursue a Masters Degree at the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduating in May 2017, I took up a Technology job at New York Life Insurance.
While I had a strong foundation for a long and successful professional career I always had a passion and dreamt of starting my own business which allows me to contribute and help our community but it wasn’t until I bought my first house in 2019 after I got married when I realized my passion for real estate. Buying a house was a life changing experience for me which motivated me further to learn more about residential real estate eventually leading me to get my Realtor license in the state of Texas and help family/friends find their dream home.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting your own business is usually never a smooth road. I have had my fair share of challenges. I always wanted to run my own business but figuring out what I love and able to turn that into business was a big challenge. Also taking out time to build a business while I’m working a full time job wasn’t easy either. But to be honest every single minute I have spent so far helping my clients achieve their real estate goals has been so fulfilling and rewarding that it doesn’t feel like work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My business is very simple. I help people find their dream home. Whether someone is looking to buy their first house or looking to sell their house to make a move I’m there to help. Process of buying and selling can be complex and overwhelming but using my market expertise, highly professional background and focus on client satisfaction I’m able to make it easier and a fun experience for my clients. I also specialize in helping people buy/sell investment properties and since the pandemic started my focus has been on helping our healthcare heroes and their families with their housing needs. All my healthcare clients receive a 25% of my commission as a giveback for all they do for us. I think they are our real life heroes and that’s the least I can do.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I think my parents and my brother have been a constant source of inspiration for me. They helped lay a pretty strong foundation for me while growing up in India and have always supported in whatever I decided to pursue. Also where I’m today wouldn’t be possible without my lovely wife. She is a healthcare hero who also runs her successful bakery business and has always pushed and motivated me to pursue my passion.
