Hi Dominique, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Myself Dominique Ransom am the owner of Lilac Tattoo Studio! I personally have been tattooing since 2015. I started back in Virginia Beach. I moved back to Texas where I worked in Dallas in a few shops around the area., over the last four years! then I decided to open up Lilac in December 12 of 2020.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In all honesty, it’s been 50-50. We’ve had a lot of awesome amazing memories that I wouldn’t change for the world!
And we’ve honestly had a lot of bumps in the road as well. But we definitely have learned from all the mistakes we made over the past year with being open and we embrace all of the change!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an all-female studio in Dallas Texas
We specialize in tattooing, piercing and we also offer teeth whitening and tooth gems.
I would say what status apart from other studios, off the bat is definitely going to be the aesthetic of the studio.
I definitely took a lot of time when I set up the studio planning meticulously how I wanted it to look when you walked in.
There’s a lot of love that goes into every detail of my studio so I’m definitely glad that it is appreciated among others when they say how pretty that it is! 🙂
And I definitely want readers to know that this is a place for everybody to come, regardless of what you identify or who you want to be you deserve to feel good about yourself!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking?
I definitely would say I am a risk-taker; it was a huge huge risk for me opening a business in the middle of a pandemic but we were successfully able to maintain staying open for a year and I’m very proud about that!
And also opening at all females only staff Tattoo Studio is a huge risk, because it is a huge male-dominated industry and I thought I was gonna get a lot of pushback for doing it but if anything I’ve gotten a lot of embrace for it and it makes me feel good about the decision that I made for the direction of my studio.
Pricing:
- All of our basic piercings started at $60 and we only peers for titanium and 14 karat gold
- Shop minimum – $60 for anything smaller than 1”
- $100 minimum for anything bigger than an inch
