Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Tolulope Olabintan.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
“Even when I’m afraid, I will trust you“ that was the biblical phrase that sealed the beginning of the journey to owning a practice. It was in the heat of the Covid pandemic. It was a season of deep reflections for me. I had known that I was to open a medical practice but didn’t think it was anytime soon. Everything would have to be perfect. When Covid came, Things were far from perfect, but the realization that I didn’t need to be unafraid to do was freeing. I had always imagined a medical center where evidence-based medical care meets compassionate care … where people would help to live longer well because emphasis was made on both the quality of life and quantity of life. Being a doctor has always been something I wanted to do as a child that part was easy – I knew it and chased it. But the practice… it was a leap of faith. With the support of my family and knowing that this is something God has called me to do we started, and here we are.
We opened July 2021 in Mansfield, Texas, and our motto is Care, sincerely. You should come visit 🙂
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not particularly smooth, if I’m being honest.
The fear. The naysayers. The late nights. The financial burden and stress. Staffing issues during the great resignation!
Balancing the different roles I play.
I’m also a wife, mom, and mentor.
Yes, tough challenges along the way, but they have taught me patience and help me refocus my thought process in the face of difficulties. I have learned through the process that Challenges are not meant to break us but to stretch us and increase our capacity as humans to do more and be more.
Challenges have become more of a growing opportunities as I think solutions- who, how, when – in problem-solving.
It’s been worth it though! I’m better as a person for it and in the capacities I serve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Livingspring family medical center is a primary care center where we help patients live long and well because we believe the quality of life is just as important as the quantity of life. It serves as a medical home for kids to the elderly. Our youngest patient 1-month-old, oldest about 93 yo.
“Livingspring” was inspired by the Holy Bible describing God as “The Source of Living Waters” and the ultimate source of true healing. In the place of service, I and my team serve as a conduit of such healing in an atmosphere of compassion committed care coupled with sound medical knowledge and experience.
I am a Board-Certified Family Physician, a board-certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. I also completed a Women’s Health Fellowship, and I am certified HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
I love using lifestyle as medicine. Meaning using foods, habits, and movement +\- medication to help people live tangibly better.
At the clinic, we particularly believe that people thrive more when they feel sincerely cared for, and that’s what we do. Care, sincerely. You are not just a number but a person of inestimable value, and we treat you as such.:
I also host guests on my live streaming show on my YouTube and Facebook Chanel, answering common patient questions!
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
1. Just because it’s hard doesn’t make it hard
2. Just because you’re meant to do something doesn’t mean it’ll be easy
3. Do it afraid
4. It takes a team to thrive, build one and be one.
5. A life of fulfillment is a life lived in service of others with your gifting!
