Hidden Gems: Meet Du Nguyen of Delio Vending & Coffee Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Du Nguyen.

Du, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We started just two years ago with one location, averaging around 150 transactions a month. Today, we have grown to more than 30 locations with over 15,000 transactions every month. That growth came from listening to customers and seeing what was missing in the industry.

One of the biggest gaps we noticed was customer service. Many operators only focus on stocking machines, but we wanted to bring a different mindset. From the beginning, our goal has been to build a service-first culture where every customer feels valued and supported.

Along the way, we also recognized the growing need for micro markets and smart cooler solutions. Not many operators are willing to take on that challenge, but we believed it was important to give customers modern options. We also learned how complex it is to create a reliable system that brings fresh food and healthy food directly to the workplace. It requires a strong logistics plan that a lot of operators cannot manage, but we have made it a priority.

On top of that, we have built out a premium coffee service where our team cleans the coffee machines every week. It might sound small, but details like that are what keep customers happy.

That combination of listening to people, focusing on service, and building the right operations is what brought us to where we are today. We are proud of the progress we have made and excited about the future as we continue to grow and bring better vending, micro market, and coffee solutions to our community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of our toughest challenges has been fresh food. When we first decided to offer it, we quickly learned that it’s not as simple as just adding sandwiches or salads to a cooler. Fresh food usually has a seven-day expiration window, which means you need a solid logistics system in place to keep everything rotating properly. Managing those expiration dates while keeping the shelves looking full was a constant learning process.

On top of that, our fresh food distributor had minimum order requirements that we often couldn’t meet in the beginning. As a smaller and newer operation, it was difficult to hit those thresholds without risking waste. That forced us to get creative and strategic about what we stocked.

Another challenge was earning trust as a new company. When you start with only one location, customers don’t know if you can deliver consistently. We had to prove ourselves one account at a time. That meant being responsive, solving problems quickly, and showing that we were serious about long-term relationships.

Overcoming these challenges has shaped us into the company we are today. It pushed us to get better systems, tighter operations, and a stronger focus on service.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
elio Vending provides vending, micro market, coffee, water, and fresh food services across the Dallas–Fort Worth community. We operate 24/7 with a service-first culture, and our focus has always been on giving workplaces reliable, modern, and healthy breakroom solutions.

What sets us apart is our willingness to take on areas that many operators avoid. We specialize in micro markets and smart cooler solutions, which give employees more variety and convenience. We also focus heavily on fresh food and healthy choices, even though building the logistics to support that is challenging. Not many companies in our industry can successfully manage it, but we’ve made it a priority.

Another area that defines us is our premium coffee service. We don’t just install machines and walk away. Our team cleans and maintains them weekly, making sure customers always get a consistent, high-quality cup of coffee. Those small details are part of what we’re known for — we treat every account as if it’s our most important one.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of being a Texas-based company that designs and engineers our own micro market services in-house. It gives us full control over the experience and allows us to create solutions that fit each client’s needs.

For readers, what we’d want them to know is that Delio Vending isn’t just about vending machines. We’re about creating a better workplace experience. Whether it’s a micro market stocked with healthy meals, a smart cooler for round-the-clock access, or a freshly cleaned coffee station, our goal is to bring convenience, quality, and care to every site we serve.

What makes you happy?
What makes us happy is knowing our customers feel taken care of. Customer service has always been the heart of our business, and nothing is more rewarding than hearing feedback that we solved an issue quickly or that our team went above and beyond to make things easier.

We find real joy in keeping breakrooms and markets running smoothly. When a customer walks in and sees everything fully stocked, clean, and ready to go, that gives us a sense of pride. It shows that our service-first approach is making a difference.

We also find happiness in building trust over time. Many of our accounts started with just one small opportunity, and through consistency and care, those relationships have grown into strong partnerships. Seeing that trust develop and knowing our efforts help people every day is what makes this work so fulfilling for us.
