Hidden Gems: Meet Erin Harvey of Pure Glow Skincare Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Harvey.

Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After more than 20 years in corporate America, primarily within the insurance industry, I decided to make a bold shift. In December 2019, at the age of 53, I became a Licensed Esthetician.

Shortly after gaining my license, I briefly worked with another esthetician in Arlington before the world changed in March 2020. Despite the challenges, I adapted quickly – offering virtual consultations and at-home facial kits to continue supporting clients during uncertain times.

As one of the oldest students in my esthetics class, I quickly realized that my perspective on aging was different. I’ve never resonated with the term “anti-aging” – aging is natural and inevitable. The pressure for women to maintain a youthful appearance, while men are often celebrated for aging, felt wrong. I believe in aging gracefully and proudly – each line on my face tells a story in my life.

The growing popularity of injectables to “erase” signs of aging raised concerns for me. These quick-fix solutions often hit the market before the long-term effects are fully understood. I saw an opportunity to offer something different: a all-embracing, healthy-skin approach that empowers clients to age gracefully and confidently without resorting to invasive procedures.
My goal has always been to help clients feel beautiful in their skin – whether they’re teens battling acne, adults navigating hormonal changes or simply embracing their evolving appearance. Healthy skin is beautiful skin, and confidence starts with feeling good about yourself.

In June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, I opened my first esthetics practice in Willow Park. My initial goal was simply to break even – and I did. Over the next three years, I doubled revenue year over year, expanded the team, and welcomed my daughter into the business after she earned her license in 2023.

In 2024, I moved into a larger space in Willow Park and invested in two laser devices – my biggest financial risk to date. It was a significant leap and pushed me outside my comfort zone. Eventually, I made the decision to scale back. My daughter and I relocated the business to Fort Worth while maintaining a small satellite location in Weatherford to serve our Parker County clients.

Now, with five years in business, I feel at peace with the choices I’ve made and proud of what we’ve built.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In 2024, I took a major step by moving to a larger location in Willow Park and purchasing two laser devices. It felt like planning the perfect party – everything was ready: the food, the drinks, the favors – but the guests didn’t show. The new location, while close to I-20, was a bit off the beaten path, and the uncertainty of an election year added to the slowdown. I wasn’t alone; many local businesses were also feeling the pinch.

This prompted me to reassess. At the start of the year, I decided to scale back operations. My daughter and I moved to Fort Worth last month, and we continue to serve clients from a satellite space in Weatherford. This transition lifted a weight off my shoulders. I feel peaceful, grounded, and proud that I’m still here – June marks my fifth year in business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a results-driven skincare practice, and our motto is: “Results-driven skincare – no injections required!”

We provide a refreshing alternative to the “youth at all costs” mindset. Our services include professional exfoliation using chemical and enzyme peels, lymphatic drainage, Gua Sha massage, Nano Infusion, microcurrent toning, body treatments, laser hair removal, and scalp treatments that promote healthy hair growth.

What sets us apart is our commitment to healthy skin as the foundation for beauty. I craft personalized treatment plans for each client – whether they’re dealing with pigmentation, acne, sun damage, hair loss, or post-pregnancy body changes. We focus on consistency, offering weekly or monthly treatments to achieve results, followed by maintenance plans to sustain them.

Clients often tell me how relieved they are to find a commonsense, science-backed approach that doesn’t rely on injections or gimmicks. That validation is deeply rewarding.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I’m far more optimistic about the skincare industry today than when I earned my esthetician license five and a half years ago.

There’s a growing demand for non-invasive options to look and feel great, and this shift is reshaping the industry.

With billions of dollars fueling innovation, we’re seeing exciting advancements – but also risks. The key is knowing which products and treatments truly work and which are just hype. I’m cautious by nature; I analyze ingredients, concentrations, and sources before introducing anything new. I don’t chase trends – I focus on proven, safe, and effective solutions for my clients.
