Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin MeHarg.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This chapter of my life really began in 2021 when I graduated from Wade College with my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management. Over the next few years, I built my career as a Marketing Manager and Coordinator across two industries that could not be more different but taught me so much: real estate and the pet world.
Working hands-on with small businesses, families, and community-focused brands showed me what great marketing can do. It also sparked something in me. I realized I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to create a space where creativity, strategy, and storytelling could come together in my own way.
In October 2025, I took a leap, left my full-time job, and officially started building EDM Creative. Since then, I have been crafting my business plan, developing my services, building my portfolio, and laying the groundwork for a boutique marketing studio that helps small businesses shine online. It has been exciting, challenging, and incredibly fulfilling.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting from scratch is rarely a smooth road. Marketing and social media evolve constantly, so staying on top of trends and new tools keeps me on my toes. On top of that, I am a one woman show, which means I have been building my own brand while laying the foundation for my client work. That takes a lot of time, patience, and consistency.
There was also an emotional side to leaving a stable job to pursue entrepreneurship. Walking away from security to follow a dream is exciting, but it comes with moments of doubt and those quiet days when you wonder if anyone can see the work you are doing behind the scenes. Getting visibility as a new business is a real challenge, and it requires showing up every day even when the results are slow to appear.
Even with all of that, every step has been worth it. Every small win feels meaningful because I know I built it from the ground up, and the challenges have only made me more committed to the path I am on.
As you know, we’re big fans of EDM Creative. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is called EDM Creative. It is a boutique marketing studio that focuses on helping small businesses build a strong online presence through branding, websites, and social media management. I work closely with business owners who want marketing that feels personal, intentional, and true to who they are. My goal is to take the stress out of marketing so they can focus on running their business while I help them show up with confidence online.
I specialize in creating clean and easy to navigate websites, consistent social media strategies, and branded content that feels cohesive across every platform. What sets me apart is the personal approach I bring to every project. I take the time to learn each client’s story, their values, and the heart behind their business. Then I create marketing that reflects exactly that. I treat their brand with the same care as I treat my own.
Brand wise, I am most proud of the fact that EDM Creative was built from my own creative roots. It reflects my love for storytelling, design, and helping others succeed. I want readers to know that my services are designed to meet people where they are. Whether someone is starting fresh, rebranding, or simply wanting to show up more consistently online, I offer guidance, strategy, and hands-on support to help them grow.
If you want this answer to lean more inspirational, more direct, or more conversational, I can adjust the tone.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Marketing changes fast, and I think the next decade will be all about connection. People are craving honest, relatable content from real businesses, so I see the focus shifting even more toward authenticity. Small businesses are in a great spot because customers want to support brands that feel personal and human.
Short videos will keep growing, and new tools will come out all the time. AI will play a big role too, not to replace creativity, but to make the work a little easier and more efficient. Even with all the new technology, I think the heart of marketing will stay the same. It will still be about telling a good story and helping people feel something when they see a brand.
For me, I see the industry becoming a mix of creativity, strategy, and keeping up with trends without losing the human side of it. The businesses that stay flexible and true to who they are will be the ones that stand out.
