Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Nduka.
Hi Faith, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Faith Nduka, and I am the owner of Breads by Bosa. I was born in Nigeria and came to Dallas, Texas at the age of 11 years old. I am a wife to a loving and supportive husband, and a mother of two wonderful children. I’ve always loved cooking and baking as a form of a hobby and just something I’m very passionate about. I remember back in my college days, my apartment used to be a safe place where everyone is welcome to come to eat because I simply enjoyed cooking, and it brought so much joy to my heart. It’s always fun for me to experiment with different recipes when it comes to cooking and baking. I started baking homemade banana breads for friends and family gatherings back in 2015. My husband and a few of my friends truly motivated me to start a baking business that focused on it. When 2019 came around, I was pregnant with our second child and that was the start of Breads by Bosa.
I’m certainly glad I took the advice to start my baking business. Although there were some doubts at the beginning if the business would work out, lots of prayers, hard work, and plenty of experiments were a huge support. I am thankful for how far I’ve come. It’s not just a business to me, but also my happy place.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, absolutely not, it definitely has its ups and downs. Being a mom and homemaker with two young kids alongside running a small business can be a bit overwhelming. One thing that has remained constant is getting support from family, especially my husband. My husband who is very hands-on with our kids has indeed made the job easier with balancing our home and growing my business. Through it all, the utmost strength comes from God.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Breads By Bosa is a homemade banana bread bakery with various delectable flavors. At Breads by Bosa, it’s not just your typical banana bread. We have so many different flavors from Cranberry Pecan Pumpkin to Chocolate Chip Banana. Our bread are very well known to be moist, tasty, and delicious with pure decadence. What sets us apart from others is that we have all kinds of flavors not very many banana bread places have. One of our favorites is the pumpkin bread, and another favorite is the Strawberry Chocolate which has a very unique taste. Also, because it brings me so much joy in baking, you could actually taste that joy in each slice of my bread. We offer pickups within the DFW metroplex and ship all over the U.S.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
There are so many childhood memories to choose from, but my favorite would be when I would pretend to be a cook with some of my friends in the neighborhood. We would use empty food cans as pots, put some grains of rice, then sprinkle some spices and stir with a spoon. Until the age of 9, when my mother actually started to teach me how to cook real foods. And since then, my love for cooking and baking was only just the beginning.
