Hello Genesis Women’s Shelter, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For more than 20 years, the Genesis Benefit Thrift Store has been making incredible contributions to the Dallas community. From that dress you haven’t worn in years, to the chair that doesn’t match your new décor, our Benefit Thrift Store is a great place to bring all your gently used items.
At the Thrift Store, you can feel good about rehoming your once-loved items, because all Genesis clients are able to shop at the Thrift Store at no cost. This is especially impactful because each client can pick out what she needs for her unique situation – furniture for a new apartment, a dress to wear to an interview, or a set of sneakers because she left everything behind when she fled her home in the middle of the night.
Simply by donating your items, you can join us in our mission to end domestic violence and become a part of the solution. We even provide drive-through services, so you never have to leave your car, unless you want to come in and shop!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The pandemic was certainly a challenge for all of us, but business is as strong as ever and we are proud to serve the community now from two locations, on Oak Lawn and Southern Dallas.
