Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracyn Conniff.
Hi Gracyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing yoga in high school, as a tool to help me recover from an ACL repair surgery. It started as a hobby, and slowly turned into a passion. I graduated high school in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. My original plan was to attend NMU, then TXST… then I finally settled on renting out my great aunt’s basement apartment in Boulder, CO where I would attend online school at TCC. Well, a few months in, I withdrew from school with a dream to take my yoga teacher training and do that for a living, working as a barista full time to get by. I moved out of my aunt’s apartment and then into a house with some friends in Fort Collins, CO, where I did my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Loveland Community Yoga with Angie Katz. It was life changing, and I learned that yoga wasn’t just a physical practice, it’s a lifestyle, and a spiritual practice. I finished my 200 hour in 2021 when I was 19 with a new perspective on life, and much more growing to do. In 2024, I felt the call to do my 300 hour teacher training with Angie, knowing that in April of 2025, my boyfriend and I would be moving back home to DFW. My 300 hour training confirmed my passion, and that was when I officially made it my goal to open my own studio. I would do anything to make yoga my career. My boyfriend, Jordan, and I officially moved back home in April of 2025. I was working as a barista and started a new position as a yoga instructor at Sacred Soul. When Tarka, the previous owner, reached out to me to tell me that she was selling the business, it felt like an opportunity that I could not pass up. It took months of hard work and decision making, but ultimately, I wound up buying the business in October 2025. It was surreal, and it still is surreal. I have incredible imposter’s syndrome, but I am so grateful to be in the position I am in. It all aligned once we moved back, and it’s only growing from here!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have definitely been infinitely blessed with the amazing support from my family, friends, and partner, but it has not always been easy. Yes, I am living out my dream, and I am super grateful, but I am still a 23 year old girl. I am learning how to be a business owner, how to handle money, how to handle being an employer, and also how to simply be an adult in this society. It is so much more than just being a yoga teacher now. I am teaching every single day, I am subbing classes for any sick or traveling instructors, the holidays were insane, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I see it all as a learning process, even on the days where I am super stressed, or my social battery is super drained. Another thing about owning a business, as mostly an introvert, putting myself out there and talking to people, answering my phone even has been an adjustment. It is a new life that is going to take some getting used to, but I own my own yoga studio! It’s everything I have been wanting ever since my first teacher training, and it’s finally my reality.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sacred Soul is more than a yoga studio—it’s a sanctuary for self-study, healing, and genuine connection. We offer yoga, meditation, sound healing, Reiki, workshops, and teacher trainings rooted in ancient wisdom traditions and expressed through modern, accessible practices. Whether someone is brand new to yoga or deeply immersed in their path, our offerings meet people where they are and invite them to come home to themselves.
What we’re known for is the feeling people have when they walk through our doors. Sacred Soul is warm, inclusive, and intentionally non-intimidating. Our classes emphasize presence over performance, nervous-system regulation over pushing, and authenticity over aesthetics. We specialize in creating experiences that are both grounding and expansive—classes and events that feel soulful, safe, and transformative without being rigid or dogmatic.
What truly sets us apart is our community-centered approach. Sacred Soul isn’t about one teacher or one style; it’s about cultivating a shared space where students and teachers grow together. Our teacher trainings are a rite of passage as much as an education—designed not only to prepare confident teachers, but to support deep personal transformation that ripples into everyday life, relationships, and work.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of our integrity and heart. We lead with care, intention, and reverence for the practices we share, while remaining approachable and real. Everything we offer—from weekly classes to immersive trainings—is created with the intention of helping people feel more connected, embodied, and empowered.
What we want readers to know is this: Sacred Soul is a place to slow down, soften, and remember who you are. It’s a space where healing feels human, spirituality feels grounded, and everyone belongs.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
For me, if I hadn’t taken any risks in life, I wouldn’t be where I am at now. I can’t even think about what I would be doing right now if I hadn’t followed the path that I did. We have to take risks in this life, or we will never reach our full potential. Every unknown is a chance to grow. You either take the risk and it works out, and you learn and grow, or you take the risk and you fail, and you learn and you grow. If you don’t take risks, you’ll never know what you are capable of. If I hadn’t withdrew from college and pursued yoga, I wouldn’t be a business owner at 23. Even if you do things that aren’t considered “the norm”, if you follow your path and you take calculated risks that are aligned with your dreams and your goals, then the reward is so much greater. If I had taken the “safe route”, went to college and studied who knows what, I think I would be in thousands of dollars of debt and stuck in a job that I hate. Ever since I was little, I have always said that I would never work a desk job. In today’s society, and growing up in a very normal and middle class family, it takes some risk taking to be able to do that. I would encourage everyone to take risks. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Maybe it’s something as simple as taking that art class you’ve been wanting to take, or getting that certification in something that you are passionate about. But taking that risk could bring you closer to the life that you have always dreamed of, or if nothing else, you’ll learn something.
