Hidden Gems: Meet Hunter Newsom of Industrial Pizza and Brew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Newsom.

Hi Hunter, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The atmosphere and quality of a small hometown eating place has always been an attraction for our family.

The Newsom family established roots in Richardson in 1955 when Richardson Heights was being built. It has since been the home where children, grand children and great grandchildren have all left their marks on this great city.

Executive Chef/Owner, Hunter Newsom has always had a great desire to share his fresh, homemade recipes in Richardson where he was raised. Along with the help of his parents, Kelly and Becky Newsom, his dream of The Industrial Pizza and Brew came to be. Together they make a team as local as it gets and strive to make LOCAL the core of their restaurant using local ingredients and local brews.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were some challenges during COVID, staffing levels fluctuated a lot and resulted in constant adjustments and finding creative ways to stay connected with our guests and service them well.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a laid back, family friendly and community focused craft pizza and beer restaurant. We specialize in thin crust pizzas ranging from classics to more chef inspired styles of pizza. All ingredients are made in house and source local ingredients and beverages.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Quality, Consistency and Guest focused first, never cutting corners. That’s what keeps our guests coming back and is rewarding seeing people happy.
