Hi Janelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started this business whenever I had my first daughter. I wanted to be able to be with her and watch her grow. But I also wanted to make money as well, so my husband and I had a deep conversation about me wanting to start a baking business. And boy did it take off! Even though I’ve never made a certain item, I never said no to an order. Lol!
I would have to say what really got me to where I’m at now is my husband and his support. He has helped me out tremendously! He’s the one who pushes me to be a better version of myself every day and I can honestly say I’ve successfully succeeded this far because of it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s honestly never a smooth road for any business. Every business comes with blood, sweat and tears. But at the end of the day, you gotta push through it in order to succeed. I’ve gotten too far with my business to quit. Everyone will always have customers that would never be satisfied, obstacles that will try to get in the way, mistakes that we think will never be fixable, etc. But tomorrow is another day!

I’m a baker, and I have a small baking business. I specialize in all things sweet! I’ve been known for multiple things. Desserts jars, treat specials, etc.! I like to put together specials that would be helpful to those families struggling with funds, that way they’re still able to have a nice birthday party for their little ones or even their special days like weddings!
I would love to let everyone know that I love what I do! I’m proud of everything I’ve done so far and it’s only going to get better from here!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For those just starting their business, it’s going to be a slow start. Finding the clientele, building your name, etc. But just know promoting yourself and your business is KEY! Even if you think they’re getting tired of you and your post…they’re still watching, and they’ll remember your name! Keep pushing and pushing and don’t ever give up! There’s alot of resources that are free to use, so take advantage of it.
