Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Lawrence.
Hi Jasmine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi there! I’m Jasmine Lawrence, Licensed Massage Therapist. From the time I was a child, I’ve been helping people soothe their aches and pains through the power of touch. I was that kid rubbing the feet, ankles, and knees of my late grandmother, who suffered from arthritis, my great-aunts, and their friends. 🙂 My grandmother often said that I have healing hands, which is what ultimately inspired me to become a massage therapist. After graduating from college and having been an educator for six years, I decided to take steps in the direction of massage therapy. I was formally trained in Swedish Massage in 2013 in Port St. Lucie, FL. While I began my MT career doing outcalls, I continued teaching. However, a couple of years later, I felt compelled to take a leap of faith and move to Dallas, TX, where I’ve resided for the past six years. I’m still an educator (just wrapped up my 13th year teaching); however, with a little inspiration during an awesome facial from a wonderful aesthetician/instructor, Letisha Murphy of Royal Skin Studios (also in B.C. Salon Suites where I’m located), I finally decided to reenter the world of massage therapy. Thus, Jay Elle’s Massage Therapy was born. On June 15, 2022, I opened my studio inside B.C.’s Salon Suites. My studio and sessions invite a sense of calm, relaxation, and peace that allow my clients to return to the world feeling serene and rejuvenated. Currently, I offer 70-minute full-body Swedish massages by appointment only, incorporating aromatherapy and hot towels for intentional relaxation and soothing of tense muscles. However, my services will change in the future, as I plan to further my massage career by incorporating my knowledge of Reiki and by studying Medical Massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, and more. Ultimately, it’s the ability to help people alleviate the effects of stress and other illnesses on the body so they feel more capable of conquering life that I cherish most. I look forward to becoming a greater part of the Plano community and helping as many people as possible along my journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a journey getting to this point. It’s had its fair share of ups and downs, but it’s also all been worthwhile. The biggest obstacle I faced was getting out of my own way. So often in life, we become entangled in fear, doubt, and uncertainty. My journey has led me to gain the confidence and willingness to step out on faith, trust God in a bolder way, and take steps toward the direction I felt guided to take. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I had to let my faith be bigger than my fear. Once I did, things just began falling into place, and I’m here for it.
We’ve been impressed with Jay Elle’s Massage Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jay Elle’s Massage Therapy opened inside B.C.’s Salon Suites in June of 2022. In the future, my services will expand as I seek to incorporate my knowledge of Reiki and study Medical Massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, and more. People should know that my services offer both quality and affordability. When I began planning my business, I knew that I wanted to help those like myself, working professionals who see the value of massage as an integral part of their self-care routine but are in need of something affordable. The pandemic stressed so many of us, not just financially, but also mentally and physically. My goal is to help people achieve a sense of balance without straining their budgets. I also want people to know that I produce an amazing product called Jay Elle’s Natural “Healing Hands” CBD body moisturizer. Over the last few years, I’ve developed and tailored this unique product, inspired by my late grandmother and my great-aunt. Made of various body butter and oils, select essential oils, as well as CBD oil, this product offers both long-lasting moisture and relief of pain. Those who have used it have reported relief from various ailments including, but not limited to Arthritis pain, intense menstrual cramps, irritable bowel syndrome (I.B.S.), injury/accident-related soreness/pain, headaches, tension, Eczema, etc. Just rub it wherever you feel pain (or use it everywhere as a daily moisturizer) and experience relief within minutes. A little goes a long way! It leaves your skin feeling super soft! Ultimately, the ability to help people alleviate the effects of stress and other illnesses on the body, so they feel more capable of conquering life is what I cherish most. I look forward to becoming a greater part of the Plano community and helping as many people as possible along my journey.
What do you think about happiness?
Helping others makes me happy! In a world where there is often so much chaos, conflict, and uncertainty, I believe the most valuable quality and/or action one can possess is love. We all go through things, but being able to persevere in the spirit of love makes all the difference. Whether in the classroom, amongst my family/friends, or in my massage studio, I try my best to lead with love and share my light. Simple acts, words, gestures, or something as simple as a listening ear, can go a long way in helping our community and world at large become an even better place.
