Hidden Gems: Meet Jennifer Daly of Cheering On Moms

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Daly.

Tell us about your journey that led to where you are today.
In high school, I remember strategically mapping out a plan to be so diversely talented that no company would want to let me go in times of economic crisis. They could simply move me to another division in the company because I was a quick learner and an excellent multi-tasker. Although I think God lovingly laughs when we try to control and plan out every detail of our lives, I do believe the idea of having multiple avenues of income was seeded in me early enough to make a huge impact throughout my life. While attending college at The University of Texas at Austin (HOOK ‘EM!) I worked part-time for CBS Radio as a DJ. I loved interacting with callers on air as well as with the community when I attended events. Upon graduation, I accepted a full-time job with CBS and began my career. Roughly a year in, I realized this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After much prayer and counsel from wise friends and family in my life, I went back to school and earned my MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources. I know; it was quite a switch! I knew I loved working with people, I just needed a business component too where I could utilize my analytical skills as well. Many years later, I believe I have accomplished what my high school self would have called diversely talented. I currently serve as the Vice President of Human Resources for a national digital marketing company. I’m also the founder of CheeringOnMoms.com where I am a master-level certified life coach, speaker, and three-time published author. Using my background in cheerleading, from middle school through college and professionally, I know that I’m called to encourage, serve and bring people together. Having these passions and wanting to show my daughters and other women how to set and go for goals led me to pageantry. This is another area of my life where I get to serve our community and bring people together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a business that has a focus on bringing people together has been challenging these past couple of years. I think we’ve gotten comfortable behind our screens and are in a culture as women we’re saying “no” is like wearing a badge of honor. Setting boundaries is great, but we shouldn’t say no to everything. We weren’t meant to do life alone. When I’m coaching women one on one, I encourage them to step out of their comfort zone and say “yes” to things that align with their goals. As a business owner, there will be challenges, great and small along the way, but that is life, and it allows me to relate with and cheer others on along the way.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Cheering On Moms?
Cheering On Moms is a place where Moms can find encouragement and a life coach that will help them get rid of their guilt and go for their goals! Early in my mothering years, I found myself “stuck.” Mom guilt made me feel as if I needed to make every second about being a mom, that that was my new “job” but my heart longed to continue pursuing my dreams. As I took baby steps to do things for myself, I realized that was the best gift I could give my daughters. A healthy me is a better Mom. It also taught my girls that my world doesn’t revolve around them, which I believe can lead to self-centeredness. Instead, today they can see me running my business, pursuing my dreams, and still being a present and loving Mom. Every Mom that says Yes to a coaching session with me gets that same encouragement and cheering on during our sessions. I listen, I help my clients set achievable goals, I keep them accountable, and I cheer them on as they run their race. Seasonally, I offer group coaching, and I always have one on ones and on-demand workshops available online as well. It breaks my heart to see women who have guilted themselves into believing their world has to revolve around their kids 24-7. If that’s you, then let’s talk because sister, there’s a world that needs your talents, and I’m ready to help you unleash them!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
There is no way I could run my business, support another business, or be a mom, a wife, and a pageant Queen without the support of my family. My husband, Daniel, is also a very community-minded servant. He is a firefighter in North Texas that also works in community outreach. Together, we do our best to serve others and demonstrate to our daughters what it’s like to be generous with our time, talent, and treasures. Both our girls have started their own foundations to help others as well. Our oldest, Zoey, founded “Hearts for Hereos” which provides snack gift baskets to police and fire stations. Lexi, our youngest, started “Blankets for Buddies” and collects toys, treats, and anything animals need and donates them to animal shelters and rescue groups. These three have listened to my dreams and cheered me on through it all. I would not pursue all that I work for without their support. In fact, my next venture, Fierce Angels, launches next year, and we are thrilled to open this new online boutique together as a family, so stay tuned!
