Hidden Gems: Meet Jennifer Grinke of Grinke Stewart Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Grinke.

Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for the law and helping people. I grew up as a daughter of a Police Offer and was always fascinated by my father’s job. After watching my father testify in a case, my fascination with the law grew and I decided at a young age that I wanted to be an attorney. From there forward I involved myself in any way possible to further my passion. In college, I worked at a law firm and eventually attend Law School. During Law School, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a Guardian Ad Litem with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Washington state. That program will forever hold a special place in my heart. Through CASA I was able to see the difference that once person can have in a child’s life, and I decided I wanted to dedicate my legal work to an area of the law where I felt I could have an impact on people. I committed my practice to family law in 2010 when I passed the bar and have been doing it ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Practicing family law can be challenging at times. You are often dealing with good people who are going through one of the hardest trials of their life. It can be difficult to balance their emotions and feelings with your job as their advocate. Finding that balance took many years, and I am not always perfect at it, but it has gotten easier with a lot of grace.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Grinke Stewart Law, we specialize solely in the practice of family law. While there is nothing inherently wrong with having a diverse practice, we believe it is difficult to fully immerse yourself into the complexities of family law if your practice is not centered around it. By focusing exclusively on family law issues, our attorneys are always well-versed and up to date on nuances of the subject matter. Our approach to family law issues is “advocacy with empathy.” It is our number one priority to understand and respect what our clients value. We take the time to learn who our clients are, we listen to their concerns, and we care about their unique goals. Through this approach, we provide exceptional service and representation to help our clients during their time of need.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me most is doing my best every day for my family, my clients, and myself. In doing my best I have to make sure I am taking care of myself and being the best version of myself so that I can be an exceptional advocate for others.
