Hidden Gems: Meet Jennifer Jones of Heart of Texas Tea House, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Jones.

Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When my youngest started school, I suddenly had a little more room in my days, and I wanted to put that time into something meaningful. I’ve always loved tea, and I noticed our area didn’t have many artisan options. So I started small—researching, learning, and partnering with a blender who could help me create quality teas.

Five years later, I’m grateful for how the business has grown. I spend much of the year at farmers markets, and during the slower months I substitute teach. A few local coffee shops and stores carry my teas, which still feels like an honor every time I see them on the shelf.

Lately, I’ve been focusing on slowly growing the wholesale and catering sides of the business, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running my small business hasn’t been an easy road. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced the challenge of simply getting people to know my business exists and connecting with those who truly want what I offer. Working mostly at farmers markets adds its own layer of uncertainty—never knowing if it will be a busy day, if people will be interested in my teas, if the weather will cooperate, or what unexpected hurdles might pop up.

We’ve been impressed with Heart of Texas Tea House, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Heart of Texas Tea House offers artisan-blended, organic-based teas made with care. You can find us at markets around the area throughout the year, especially from May through the end of the year when things get busy. We offer shipping, pickup, and delivery to make it easy for customers to enjoy our teas however they prefer.

One of the best parts of this journey has been getting to know the people who stop by my booth. Over the years, many have become friends through our shared love of tea. At markets and events, I’m often asked all kinds of tea questions, and I genuinely enjoy taking the time to educate customers about different varieties and their benefits.

We carry a wide range of teas—black, green, white, and herbal—with customer favorites like Mango Peach Black Tea and Strawberry Hibiscus. During the fall and winter, we bring out seasonal blends such as Whiskey Weather, Sweet Apple Chai, and Christmas Magic, a hibiscus tea with notes of plum. Along with loose-leaf teas and gallon-sized premade teas, we also offer catering services, from simple premade gallons to full tea bars with fresh, made-to-order drinks, and even intimate tea parties. I also love partnering with local coffee shops and artisan stores to reach more tea lovers in our community.

Supporting local nonprofits is also important to us. We’ve enjoyed contributing to groups like the Friends of the Library in Rockwall, the Dallas 24 Club Tea Fundraiser, and Rockwall Meals on Wheels—either through discounts or full donations when we’re able.

We take pride in offering high-quality teas to our community, whether loose leaf or premade gallons. We use the best water available to ensure great flavor, and we even make our own organic cane sugar syrup. Everything we do reflects our commitment to serving tea that’s crafted with intention, quality, and heart.
