Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Peterson.
Hi Jillian, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m licensed esthetician located here in Dallas, Texas. Although I specialize in Brazilian waxing + Vajacials I do provide total skincare services. Such as Customized Facials, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplane, Chemical Peels, teeth Whitening, Body Wraps, and Body Conturing. I graduated from Ogle School of Hair Skin and Nails back in 2009. My journey as Simply Waxing and Skincare began in 2014 after deciding to just step out in faith and open up my own space. I am here to make all of my clients, new and regular feel comfortable and excited to come to their appointment each month.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not smooth by any means but let’s be honest what things in life are. There were definitely a lot of long nights and early mornings but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. In the beauty industry things are forever changing and switching up so you have to stay on your toes. But that’s the beauty of it all. Finding your niche and sticking to what you love is the most rewarding experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Simply Waxing and Skincare?
Simply Waxing started out is just a waxing boutique. And my first few years of business my clients were coming get their body waxing services and then would say “OK well now I’m off to my facial appointment or my body wrap appointment.” And they would say well Jillian you’re a fully licensed Esthetician, I sure wish that I could come get my waxing and skincare services all in one place. Then that had me thinking, OK I know I love body waxing and I know that I’m very good at it but let me give my clients what they want. So slowly but surely, I started adding in just customized Facial services. Then I was offering Microdermabrasion. I was offering Dermaplane. I was offering you know a service menu just for my male clients. And then I branched off to body contouring, teeth whitening, etc so it was just a domino effect from there.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Like I said, The beauty industry is always always changing there’s always new things coming about some are trends and some are actually here to stay for the long haul. I’m just here to provide my clients with the things that they need as far as skincare as far as body waxing you know; I educate them on aftercare of all services what they can do in between their appointments with me. Telling them how important home skincare regimens are. I mean I just see the industry going nowhere but up at this point, I am Just really excited to see what’s to come for the beauty industry.
