Kentavious, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Six years ago, I picked up the clippers not knowing it would change my life. What started as a side hustle turned into a full-blown passion and purpose. I poured everything into mastering my craft, building my clientele, and creating a space that represents growth and dedication. Now, I’m the proud owner of K3 Cuts, and every fade, lineup, and conversation reminds me how far I’ve come and how much more there is to do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, I had to build everything from the ground up — my skills, my clientele, and my confidence. There were times when business was slow, and I questioned myself. But every setback taught me 3 things! Patience, consistency, and how to keep pushing even when things get tough. Opening K3 Cuts came with its own challenges too… learning how to manage a business, keep customers happy, and stay creative every day. Those struggles kept me hungry. They pushed me to work harder, stay authentic, and never lose sight of why I started.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best advice I can give is to stay authentic. Be yourself, and people will respond to your passion and honesty. Also, be the type of person you want to meet! I can’t express that enough! Bring the energy, work ethic, and mindset you admire, and the right connections will follow.
