Hidden Gems: Meet Kerri Fishencord of Masters Methodology

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerri Fishencord.

Hi Kerri, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a 51-year-old entrepreneur, actress, and podcaster who blends creativity with care. I began my career 22 years ago as a massage therapist, and becoming a single mom taught me to push beyond the ordinary to care for my family and my clients. The early challenges compelled me to diversify and dive into new modalities, training alongside the world’s leading Rolfers. Today I offer a blended methodology in my practice as an integrative bodyworker—an intentional methodology of structural work, mindful movement, and pain management that helps clients release tension, regain mobility, and move through life with optimization. A body of resistance ! I’ve earned 10 certifications and continue to push limits of learning. When I’m not working I am acting and also have my own podcast. Transformation starts in the body, I believe, and then flows into every aspect of life. You are your first and forever home everything extends from there..

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I didn’t open my business because I knew how to run a traditional massage practice. I opened it because I had client’s, followers, and fans of my work and they needed something different, My work is varied, so I couldn’t fit it into a standard massage-business model. I’ve trained across many modalities, which can be hard to communicate in a world that wants simple, one-size-fits-all answers—but the results speak for themselves. When COVID rocked the world, I was deemed medically essential and had the credentials to stay open. While many businesses folded, mine tripled in size. That growth was, in hindsight, a blessing of the credentials I’d earned, which paid off in the end.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I work with the Mindset of systems not symptoms when it comes to the human design. I’m proud to believe there is no one-size-fits-all method in bodywork—every style and modality has value. I’ve had the privilege of studying with some of the world’s leading practitioners—from Tom Myers and Eric Dalton to Dr. Kenzo Kase, the inventor of Kinesio Tape, and many others—whose insights continually shape my practice. That lineage is also the origin of my name: a living legacy of the world’s best minds brought together to serve each individual client. Most of all, I want my clients to know they matter. In a fast-moving world, they should walk through my doors and feel seen, valued, and the work I perform should be delivered with intention for their highest good. . Clients should expect to start with a masters session or the full 10 series to get to the root of what is wrong and create function and flow in their bodies optimizing it so that it’s most resilient in life. Then we work down to more traditional styles of bodywork, and then finally maintain with massage.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up in the era of kids who played outside. Even as a kid I knew I was fortunate to live in Maine one of the most beautiful states in the world. I have loads of beautiful memories growing up with my house on the lake and the woods for my back yard. My best gift of my pink huffy bike stands out as one of my favorite memories. Riding bikes was a sense of freedom and discovery.
