Today we’d like to introduce you to KT Dang.
KT, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was a little girl, I would see these beautiful celebrities with glowing skin and they were always advertising some type of skincare product. I always dreamed of having their kind of beauty and was curious about skincare products but my parents were not able to afford it. When I was 12 years old, my aunt bought me some skincare products for my teenage acne break out and I immediately fell in love with the results. I really enjoyed using the products and found it quite therapeutic to follow a skincare routine.
Shortly after, I helped my friend treat her acne and the result came out great (I was not a licensed esthetician at that time)
I actually graduated university with a finance and marketing degree in my country but didn’t find any passion in it, it didn’t excite me.
Then I moved to the states with my husband and told him I want to be an esthetician. So, I went to school and got my license. I went through extensive training and assisted many professionals to get to where I’m at.
My personal skincare journey has led me to devote myself with helping others feel good in their own skin.
I love and enjoy what I do and it’s been so rewarding to see people’s skin improve through my work and knowledge of products.
That’s why I felt it was time for me to branch out and offer the best of the best in the day spa/skincare industry.
I feel confident in my years of experience and my knowledge on products that I will be able to help people reach their skin goal.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Some of the struggles I had along the way was that English is my second language, so having to learn everything in a different language made school twice as hard for me. I’ve only been in the states for a total of 7 years so my English is limited but my love and knowledge for skincare isn’t. I continue to learn new English words every day through meeting new friends and clients.
My husband also travelled a lot for work. Luckily, we lived in Chicago where my husband’s family lives but his job ended up moving us here to Dallas. So being alone in Texas with no family to help us, we had to figure out how to balance work life and family life with our two little ones. I have a 3.5-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter who I love with all I have and they keep me going on tough days.
