Hidden Gems: Meet Lemark Collins of Saintlamo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lemark Collins.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first love was architecture drafting. Straight lines, balance, and order guided how I saw the world. I carried that into everything I created. I started with DC Designs, making flyers and cards by hand. Those early projects trained my eye and sharpened my work ethic. I learned to finish what I started.

My interest in fashion grew fast. My first designs sold out. That confirmed my direction. In 2009, I moved to Phoenix and launched Donmarque Custom Designs. I produced custom T shirts for family events and company fundraisers. I learned production through trial and correction. That taught me accountability and patience.

I wanted stronger training, so I studied at Full Sail University, then transferred to Wade College in Dallas. Before graduating in 2015, I interned with LeVenity and volunteered for DIFFA Dallas. I steamed garments, carried racks, and worked backstage. I learned the pace, the rhythm, and the responsibility behind the scenes.

Building SAINTLAMØ raised the standard I had for myself. I dealt with delays, pressure, and the challenge of growing a brand while working full time. I rebuilt confidence after setbacks. I sharpened my focus on structure, proportion, and identity. Chicago prepared me for that pressure. My background taught me to stay steady and move with intention.

Today, my work reflects quiet luxury shaped with urban influence. The lines come from architecture. The discipline comes from Chicago. The clarity comes from experience. Every piece holds structure and intention. When someone puts on a SAINTLAMØ piece and stands taller, I feel the purpose behind the work.

This is the path that shaped my voice, my brand, and my direction.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My path came with pressure and limited resources. I learned through mistakes and correction. I fixed orders by hand. I refunded people when the work was not right. I rebuilt trust one person at a time. Each moment pushed me to sharpen my discipline.

I dealt with slow production, wrong sizing, and missed deadlines. Every setback felt personal because I held myself responsible for every detail. I treated each issue as something I had to solve alone.

Moving from Chicago to Phoenix, then to Dallas, forced me to leave familiar environments and start over more than once. I worked full time while studying and building my skills. I balanced school, work, and the drive to stay creative. I felt overwhelmed at times, and I questioned my pace. I stayed with the process because I knew my direction.

Building SAINTLAMØ raised the expectations I set for myself. I learned production, communication, and brand structure from the ground up. I stayed focused through pressure and grew through each stage.

These experiences shaped SAINTLAMØ. The strong lines in the logo reference cross-grain structure and architectural influence. They represent boundaries I had to push through and the strength I gained from each challenge. The brand reflects the same structure and resilience that built me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Saintlamo?

Progress drives me. I take an idea and build it until the work stands on its own. I respect effort that shows in the final result.
Design gives me purpose. I study fit, structure, and presence. When someone wears a SAINTLAMØ piece and stands taller, I feel the impact.

Training and routine keep me stable. Early mornings. Focus. Time alone. Staying active keeps my mind sharp. Self care keeps me clear. I go to art shows and creative spaces. Moments like that keep me present. I enjoy living in the moment without pressure.

I feel grounded when I follow my direction. My decisions come from experience. I adjust when needed. I do not fold. My background taught me to stand firm. Growth and identity make me happy. Strength expressed in a clean and unapologetic way matters to me.
