Hi Melissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have always had a passion for photography. Even as a kid I was always the one in my friend group to have a disposable camera with me, even as many as 5 of them. Almost 9 years ago now, my dad saw my passion had grown for photography and got me my first entry-level “professional” camera. It started off as taking pictures of friends and then friends of friends, and soon others wanted pictures too!
I never in a million years thought it would turn into a full-time business but it did in 2018 and I have been so thankful since!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I was on and off with photography for almost 6 years before I made it a full-time business. It was not always smooth sailing because I was also working full time, as well as going to school.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer located in the Fort Worth area serving couples all over DFW and beyond. I specialize in photographing weddings, couples, and Highschool and college seniors. Although I am so proud of calling this a business, I am definitely an artist and a creative first. I strive to create work that not only suites my clients and expresses their love or personality but I love that I get to do that from a creative standpoint. So, it always feels like collaborative work, and am so excited I get to work with some amazing people who are always down for my ideas!
Aside from offering Wedding services, such as wedding day photography, engagements, bridals, and boudoir… I also offer portrait sessions such as Highschool and college seniors, family sessions, and maternity sessions.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I never want to just be thought of as a client’s wedding photographer. I always strive to create a friendship so they know they can trust me with such a huge moment in their life. I not only photograph the wedding day and all the special moments in between, but as someone who has photographed over 40 weddings, I also help with all other aspects surrounding the wedding! Such referring all of my favorite vendors, how to prepare for your engagement session, what to bring to your bridal and boudoir session, how to create a timeline, what to have ready on the wedding day and what not to forget and so on. I want my wedding clients to have such an amazing experience just as much as they do. And I love being there to help them every step of the way!
