Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Jefferson.
Hi Michael, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I am the oldest of three boys, so sports have always been a huge part of my family’s lives. While all three of us played sports, the youngest truly excelled. He (Malik Jefferson of the Indianapolis Colts) was a 6’2 freshman linebacker who attended a camp at UNT, where he ran a 4.4. He was offered a scholarship on the spot. This was a unique experience that happens to very few athletes. We discovered that there was a big gap with youth athletes and accessibility of resources needed to get to the next level. So, my brothers and I sat, discussed the problem, and came up with the platform as a solution. As for the name “Oowee!!!” – it stems from attending peewee football games, when a big hit or play was made someone usually shouted “Oowee!!!” or “That was an Oowee!! Lick.” It’s a term that screams excitement and is used in everyday language. It’s what the entire brand/company is based upon, creating excitement around a person’s athletic successes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been bumpy, to say the least. We have been scammed by several developers before finding the perfect one. We are believers though, so we know that victory comes with battles that we may not always win. User experience is a high priority. We want users to be able to connect with others, seamlessly.

Oowee Sports Nation is the ONLY social networking platform for Youth Sports We serve to bridge the gap between pre-collegiate athletes lacking exposure and reaching the next Level by creating a space for Athletes, their Parents, Fans, Coaches, Sports Trainers, and Sports Affiliates, worldwide, to connect and be seen, be heard, and be recognized! Users are able to connect and network with each other in an atmosphere specifically designed for youth sports. We are humbly grateful to be able to give back to our youth community and help them to showcase their talents! One of our unique features is the ability to have a one-on-one coaching session with pro/collegiate athletes.
