Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle from FML Studios.
Michelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was working at a company that was located in Miami and when my husband and I decided to relocate to Dallas, almost 2 years ago, the company offered me to keep my same position remotely. A couple months ago, the company decided to terminate the remote position, therefore leaving me without a job. I always wanted to start my own business, but I never knew where to start or what I wanted it to be. Being jobless made me have no other choice but to work really hard in creating my business, learning a new craft, and setting everything up to be able to have success in getting my products to customers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting your own small business definitely comes with its struggles. Having to use a lot of my savings to buy the machinery, equipment, materials, and more. Business of course will be slow at first and that is what I struggled with the most in the beginning. I was just hoping to have huge success from the get-go, but that’s not how it works. I’ve definitely learned that hard work is what makes the business grow with marketing and getting my products out there.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in custom embroidered designs. I create many different designs ranging from Bad Bunny lyrics, anime, Holidays, and self-care quotes. I also do custom orders for businesses, social groups, and individuals. I am so proud of creating designs that customers are proud of and happy to wear. Being a small business, I love being able to thank personally each and every customer that supports me and this dream of mine.
