For Nikki , hair has always been more than beauty — it’s healing, confidence, and connection. As the founder of Hair Haven, she has created a space where clients don’t just walk out with flawless styles; they walk out feeling renewed.
Born in New Orleans and raised in Texas after Hurricane Katrina, Nikki learned early how resilience and tenderness can coexist. She lost her father at just three years old, a loss that shaped her determination to live a life he would be proud of. That same determination fuels her work today — along with the desire to create a legacy her children will one day admire.
Hair Haven began with one simple intention: to make people happy. Nikki always had a heart for helping others, and over time she realized her gift wasn’t just in her hands — it was in her spirit. Her chair became a place where clients felt safe, seen, and celebrated.

One of her biggest motivations is her grandmother — her favorite person — whom she hopes to bring to Texas so she can care for her every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Losing my dad. And having to live through a hurricane and being stuck for weeks on end in a city , and nobody cared enough to help us . Not being close to my family anymore. Being a single mom .

I am most proud of my clients , and who they become after being in my chair for just one visit .

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I don’t like that many of the people here have a crab in a barrel mindset , nobody wants to see another person doing good , especially when it’s better than them . A lot of the other business owners aren’t good at networking with their peers . I’ve met some good people but the majority are just not very kind or welcoming.
I love the vastness of the city and the plethora of opportunities that are offered by being in a very large area .
