Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Twyman.
Hi Paris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am born & raised in Rockford, IL. I started my career in the beauty industry in 2015 when I decided to go to school to become an esthetician. My daughter had graduated high school & was on her journey in college, I decided it was time to do something for myself. I’ve always been a mom since I can remember having her at 15. So, I thought what do I like to do? One day I was on Facebook & came across an ad that asked me if I liked beauty, Skincare, & makeup & of course like any woman I answered YES to all the questions. Next thing I know I was sitting in the admissions office of Tricoci Beauty School signing up for something I couldn’t even pronounce (Esthetician). See I only knew of doing hair, the fact that you could specialize in skin was never presented as an option. Fast forward to graduating from Esthetics to now being an Esthetic Educator. I went back to school to teach esthetics. I graduated in 2018 immediately started working as an Educator & also continuing to run my business GLOW by Paris T. I traveled up & down the highway every day to teach future beauty professionals in the industry, then I would come home & service my clients at night & on weekends. In March of 2020, I decided I was tired of commuting to work for someone else, so I walked away to do what I loved the most & that was servicing my clients & make my own schedule. One week after quitting the world shut down due to Covid. I applied for a job in Arlington, Texas that was remote. I did that for a year and half then I decided to go ahead and take a chance. Packed me & my 18-year-old son & furbaby up & moved. It’s been non-stop (literally) since I’ve gotten here. I have been teaching Esthetics & practicing esthetics again.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t smooth at first. I had to adjust to the UPS & DOWNS of entrepreneurship. Not everyone is built for that life. I went back to school to get my Educator license so that if ever I needed to have consistent income I could simply just go to work.

I am licensed Esthetician Educator; I specialize in bringing the GLOW out of every individual I come in contact with. I specialize in all things “YOU”. It’s not just about making your skin GLOW; I want to build confidence. So, this goes beyond just services. With me you get an individual who is passionate about what she does. Whether it’s providing a service or teaching one of my students. I am not your Educator who just goes to work & goes home. I care about my students; I’m dedicated to them. I take pride in what I put out into the world. I’m creating future Beauty Bosses, & Ms. Paris is dedicated to just that. I currently offer a wide range of services, from advanced Skincare treatments, Permanent makeup, & teach classes.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned to be innovative. To have multiple streams of income. Start to think outside the box. Don’t stick to the ordinary or traditional. Be creative & take a chance. Do what makes you happy & everything else will fall into place. Who really would’ve guessed that I could teach Esthetics online.
