Hidden Gems: Meet Sahaj Satani of MEDILOQUY

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sahaj Satani

Hi SAHAJ, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
MEDILOQUY was founded by Sahaj Satani after he returned from a mission trip to Mexico City, where he saw the lack of access to medical opportunities for passionate students in underserved communities. Inspired to make a difference, Sahaj launched MEDILOQUY in 2022 as a nonprofit aimed at connecting high school students with hands-on medical opportunities and mentorship.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At first, spreading MEDILOQUY outside the DFW area was tough. We struggled to reach students in other regions. But things changed when we started connecting with international organizations and big healthcare groups like Texas Health. These partnerships made it easier to expand, and more students from different places began to join. Now, MEDILOQUY has a global reach, helping thousands of students explore their medical interests.

We’ve been impressed with MEDILOQUY, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MEDILOQUY is a nonprofit organization that connects high school students with medical internships, clinical experiences, and personalized guidance. We specialize in offering free opportunities to students interested in exploring careers in medicine. One of our standout programs is the Blog Internship, where students can write creative, scientifically-driven articles on medical topics. So far, we have over 275 blogs written by interns, showcasing their research and passion for healthcare.

What sets us apart is our accessibility—while many programs charge fees, MEDILOQUY is completely free, allowing students from all backgrounds to participate. We’re proud to have helped over 7,000 students gain hands-on experience through clinical programs and internships. Our Clinical Connect program links students with hospitals and clinics, providing a unique opportunity for real-world learning.

MEDILOQUY is dedicated to nurturing future healthcare leaders by offering personalized guidance and meaningful opportunities to help them grow and succeed.
