Hi Sharonda , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Early Life & Challenges
I grew up in Chicago and experienced a number of tough personal challenges early in life. I became a mother and wife at 18 and later went through a long marriage that ended in divorce from a Us Marine. Around that time, I suffered the loss of an uncle, whom I considered a father figure, surgery and the divorce that deeply affected my direction and drove me to seek a fresh start.
Move to Texas & New Beginnings
I moved to Dallas Tx and found not all cities are the same after six years. In searching for a home, I found Garland, Texas and fall in love with the area. Settling in Garland provided me with a new community and a foundation to rebuild my personal and professional life.
Career & Entrepreneurship
Professionally, I transitioned into the business world and founded my own company in 2021, Linson Eye Investigation, a private investigation and security services firm. My work focuses on serving individuals, families, and businesses with protective and investigative services that blends my analytical skills with a passion for helping others.
Recognition & Community Leadership
My impact has been recognized locally: 2023 Community Service Award, 2024 Hometown hero Award, and most notably with the 2025 Award from the NAACP Garland Unit. I actively participate in community programs, including leadership initiatives like “Principal for a Day,” which connects local leaders with Garland ISD schools to understand and support students and educators, Garland Leadership Class 43 which help with understanding your city and legislative advancing your chance at becoming more involved and growing into leadership. Garland Citizen Police Academy Class 59, which helps with understanding our men and women that are here to serve and protect and how vital as a community we can help keep our community clean and safe. City of Garland Chairperson on their boards and Commission for ” ECAB,” Environmental and Community Advisory Board.
Community Involvement
Beyond business, I’m deeply engaged with the Garland Chamber of Commerce and other local efforts, using my experiences to inspire positivity, resilience, and community engagement.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been shaped by significant obstacles, many of which began early in life. Growing up in Chicago, I was a product of a system that often labels and limits people before they ever have a chance to define themselves. In environments like that, the expectation is not success, it’s survival. You’re told, directly or indirectly, that you’re not supposed to make it, that your future will look like incarceration, addiction, or being discarded by society.
I faced those realities firsthand. I navigated hardship, personal loss, early adulthood responsibilities, and moments when the world saw me not for my potential, but through the narrow lens of my circumstances. Being labeled a juvenile delinquent or a “problem” is something that stays with you, especially when few people are willing to see beyond it.
Later in life, I encountered additional struggles, the end of a long marriage, the loss of a father figure, and the challenge of starting over in a new state. Relocating to Texas meant rebuilding from the ground up: emotionally, professionally, and financially. Launching a business came with its own hurdles, including learning an industry from the inside out and male dominated, earning trust, and proving credibility in a space where few expected me to succeed.
Despite all of that, my story stands as living proof that people are more than the labels placed on them. I simply refused to become what the system predicted. Instead of being defined by where I came from or been through, I chose to define where I’m going. My journey is not just about success, it’s about resilience, defiance of expectations, and showing others that no matter what the world says you are, you get to decide who you become.

Linson Eye Investigation, Inc. is a full-service private investigation and security firm based in Garland, Texas. We specialize in both investigative services and security services. On the investigation side, that includes private investigations, missing persons, infidelity cases, fraud, background checks, asset and fugitive recovery, workers’ compensation investigations, and vehicle recovery. Our work is thorough, strategic, and handled with the highest level of confidentiality. Every case is different, so we take a personalized approach rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.
On the security side, we provide armed and unarmed security, personal protection, event security, monitoring services, CCTV, and loss prevention. There is nothing more powerful than working with a family that is searching for truth or closure and being able to give them answers they didn’t think were possible. That feeling knowing that your work directly impacts someone’s life is what drives me every day. It’s more than a job; it’s a responsibility.
Many people assume that law enforcement is the only avenue for help, but investigators can be an invaluable resource and support system. We often serve as an extension or tool for law enforcement by gathering information, locating individuals, uncovering details, and helping move cases forward when additional support is needed. That collaboration is something I’m deeply passionate about.
Looking ahead, my vision includes expanding Linson Eye Investigation by opening additional locations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Illinois. Growth for me isn’t just about scale it’s about impact. It’s about bringing professional, ethical investigative services to more communities and continuing to show people that investigators play a vital role in protecting, supporting, and serving others.
