Hidden Gems: Meet Shronda Armstrong of Geaux Queen Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shronda Armstrong.

Hi Shronda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began in 2019 after making the decision to walk away from corporate America, where I was the only Black woman in my department. I knew I wanted more purpose, creativity, freedom, and impact in my life, so I took a leap of faith and started building what would eventually become Geaux Queen.

What started as a statement t-shirt brand centered around confidence and motivation evolved into a full media and women’s self-love platform. Today, Geaux Queen Media includes Geaux Queen Magazine, The Q-Chat podcast, community experiences, and targeted initiatives focused on storytelling, self-love, visibility, and growth.

As a trauma survivor, my personal experiences deeply shaped my passion for creating safe and meaningful spaces for women. I understand what it feels like to rebuild, rediscover your voice, and learn how to love yourself through difficult seasons. That’s one of the reasons authentic conversations and self-love are at the center of everything I create.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to interview inspiring women from all walks of life, including actresses, entrepreneurs, authors, advocates, and public figures. Through Geaux Queen, my goal has always been to highlight stories that encourage women to walk boldly in their purpose and understand that reinvention is possible at any stage of life.

Today, the brand continues to evolve into a more intentional and elevated platform centered around cultivated media, curated experiences, and meaningful community building. My mission is to continue creating impactful spaces that inspire women to heal, grow, and confidently embrace who they are becoming.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape both me and my brand. As a single mother, entrepreneur, domestic violence and trauma survivor, I’ve had to navigate many difficult seasons while still finding the strength to continue building and creating.

Over the years, I’ve faced personal hardships, health challenges, emotional setbacks, and the constant pressure that often comes with entrepreneurship and leadership. I suffer from asthma and severe anemia, and I also faced a major health scare after having a lump removed from my left breast in 2024 following surgery in 2023, all while continuing to navigate motherhood, entrepreneurship, and the responsibilities of everyday life. Those experiences forced me to slow down, reflect, and prioritize both my health and my peace.

Building a brand from the ground up requires resilience, consistency, sacrifice, and the ability to keep moving forward even during uncertain moments. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned has been the importance of alignment and protecting my peace. Not every opportunity, partnership, or connection is meant to go with you into your next season.

As I’ve grown personally and professionally, I’ve become more intentional about creating spaces, relationships, and experiences that truly align with my values, purpose, and vision. There were moments where I questioned myself, felt overwhelmed, or had to rebuild mentally and emotionally. But through faith, perseverance, and a commitment to growth, I continued evolving both as a woman and as a business owner.

Those experiences are a large part of why Geaux Queen exists today. I want women to know that it’s possible to overcome difficult chapters, reinvent yourself, and continue walking boldly in your purpose no matter what life may throw your way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Geaux Queen Media?
Geaux Queen Media is a media and lifestyle platform centered around storytelling, visibility, self-love, and meaningful conversations for women. What began as a statement t-shirt brand in 2019 has evolved into a growing media company that includes Geaux Queen Magazine, The Q-Chat podcast, curated experiences, and private community initiatives.

Through interviews, editorial features, podcasts, and digital media, Geaux Queen highlights inspiring stories from entrepreneurs, actresses, authors, advocates, and women making an impact in their communities and industries.

What sets the brand apart is its focus on authenticity, resilience, and real conversations surrounding healing, confidence, reinvention, and growth. I’m most proud of building a platform that has continued to evolve while remaining rooted in connection, storytelling, and creating spaces where women feel seen, valued, and inspired.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very creative, sensitive, and often felt misunderstood. I was bullied as a child and never really enjoyed school, so I found comfort in the world I created through art, writing, creativity, and imagination. Those outlets became my safe space and allowed me to express myself in ways I sometimes struggled to verbally.

Even though those experiences were difficult, they also helped shape the woman I am today. Creativity became more than just a hobby for me, it became healing, purpose, and eventually the foundation for the work I do now through media, storytelling, and creating spaces where people feel seen and heard.

Looking back, I think many of those early experiences taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of confidence and self-worth. They also helped inspire the vision behind Geaux Queen and my passion for authentic storytelling and meaningful connection.
