Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Qadri.
Hi Sophia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been drawn to the healing power of plants since I was young, growing up in a culture where folk remedies and herbal knowledge were part of daily life. At 25, I started experiencing unexplained leg pain, tingling, and numbness. Despite numerous doctor visits, I found no clear answers. That’s when I turned inward and deepened my exploration of herbalism — and it was through herbs that I discovered the root cause and began to heal.
Later, as a mother, I faced another turning point when my children were repeatedly diagnosed with ear infections. Instead of surgery, I trusted my instincts and used garlic mullein oil — and it worked. This success fueled my desire to learn more. I went on to study herbalism formally, attend school, self-study, and eventually open Spring to Health Apothecary with the support of my husband.
Today, I create botanical products, offer consultations, and teach others about the beauty and power of herbal medicine. My purpose is simple but deep: to reconnect people with the plant kingdom and inspire empowered, natural healing.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While I feel incredibly grateful to be doing what I love, the journey has been full of challenges. One of the biggest struggles was leaving a stable and successful corporate career to pursue something that felt more aligned with my purpose. Walking away from that security, especially as a parent, was terrifying.
Financing my herbal education while simultaneously supporting my family and trying to grow a small business has also been incredibly difficult. There have been many times I had to choose between investing in my learning or purchasing supplies to fulfill orders. I’ve faced self-doubt, burnout, and the emotional weight of trying to build something meaningful with limited resources.
But those challenges have also shaped me. They’ve deepened my resilience, sharpened my focus, and reminded me why I started! to help others heal naturally, just like I did. Every obstacle has become part of the story I now share with others who may be struggling too.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Spring to Health Apothecary is more than just a wellness brand. It’s a reflection of my journey, passion, and deep belief in the healing power of plants. We specialize in handcrafted, small-batch herbal products that are free from toxins and preservatives. Our offerings include herbal teas, tinctures, salves, facial serums, syrups, and custom wellness blends. All made with intention, integrity, and high-quality botanicals.
What sets us apart is the deep-rooted care behind everything we create. These remedies aren’t just products. They’re part of a lineage of folk wisdom, personal healing, and years of study and clinical training. I formulate with both traditional knowledge and modern herbal education, taking time to consider the energetics of each plant, the needs of the individual, and the balance between mind, body, and spirit.
In addition to products and consultations, I also offer herbal education through classes and workshops designed to empower individuals and families with practical, approachable knowledge. Whether it’s learning how to make your own medicine at home or understanding how herbs support different body systems, these classes are all about helping people feel confident in their wellness journey.
I’m especially proud of how personal our work is. Whether someone is struggling with chronic pain, hormone imbalances, stress, or immune challenges, we offer compassionate, one-on-one support to help guide them toward natural solutions that truly nourish the whole self.
Most of all, I want people to know that healing doesn’t have to be complicated or filled with chemicals. The plant kingdom offers powerful tools for support, and my mission is to help people reconnect with that — whether it’s through a cup of tea, a drop of tincture, a class, or a heartfelt conversation that brings hope.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I consider myself a natural risk-taker. It’s just part of who I am. If I feel divinely guided into something, I don’t overthink, I leap. I truly believe we’re all on a journey, and we can’t reach our purpose unless we participate fully. Even when the outcome is uncertain, there’s always something to learn in the process.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was leaving a stable, successful career in finance and treasury to pursue my passion for healing. On paper, it didn’t make sense, I had a degree, a steady paycheck, and a clear career path. But deep down, I knew that work wasn’t serving my soul. My natural inclination has always been to help others, even as a child. So, I made a complete 360 turn and followed my heart into herbalism and holistic healing.
It hasn’t been easy. Financially, emotionally, and mentally, it’s tested me in so many ways. But I’ve never regretted taking the leap. Every challenge has taught me something new, and every step has brought me closer to living a life of purpose. To me, risk isn’t about recklessness, it’s about trusting your inner compass, even when the path ahead isn’t fully clear.
