Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Fisher.
Hi Sydney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I always knew I wanted to go into cosmetology. I come from a military family so I moved a lot but I primarily grew up in eastern Montana and South Eastern Wyoming. I attended cosmetology school in Cheyenne Wy, upon graduation I immediately moved to Texas and I have been here since! I have now been doing hair for 5 years. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love every single day by making people feel better about themselves and helping them gain back their confidence! I also love meeting new people and hearing people’s life stories and experiences.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy road, moving to a new city not knowing anyone. I started at a commission salon that comes to find out wasn’t structured right nor did it feel welcoming. I then moved to another salon where a lot of the girls moved to from the commission salon and I was there for 3 years and then I moved more into Fort Worth and needed to be closer to my sons school so I just moved to the Lake Worth area a couple months ago!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in lived in color of all forms, hand tied extensions, blondes, brunettes, and cuts! I am working on getting certified in other forms of extensions as well. I would say what sets me apart from other stylists is I like to work within peoples budgets, I think all people deserve to be pampered and feel confident about themselves and I also care and have compassion which I think not all stylists do. I am also passionate about what I do and I think that sets me apart from others. If I make a mistake i will own up to it and make it right, nobody is perfect and I am willing to do whatever to make my clients happy. I am most proud of brand wise that I have worked on people from all walks of life and have done some really unique hair projects on tik tok creators, and people who work on movie and TV sets. I want readers to know that I care, I listen, I work with your lifestyle and budget, and I also respect that you support my business and time as I also respect your time as well! I believe in fair business practices and fair pricing. I’m all for charging your worth but I think some stylists take advantage of clients.
What matters most to you? Why?
My family is what matters most to me because they have supported me and my dreams through my life challenges. Being a wife and mother is one of my greatest achievements in my life aside from my career.
