Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Brunetti.
Hi Tamika, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey to where I am today really kicked off back in 2018. At that time, I had just left a job I’d been with for 13 years. And once I stepped away, I had this big realization: I didn’t have a personal brand outside of that employer. Everything about who I was professionally was tied up in that company’s identity. And I knew I needed to change that.
So I jumped into LinkedIn, experimenting with my profile, volunteering to help nonprofits polish up their LinkedIn presence, and really just showing up in a whole new way. Before I knew it, people started reaching out for help with their resumes and LinkedIn profiles and they were willing to pay me for it.
That turned out to be a kind of training ground, because not long after, I landed a role as a Global Program Manager for a Fortune 500 tech company, managing their LinkedIn Sales Navigator program. I was deep into LinkedIn and Sales Navigator every single day, coaching teams, partnering with marketing, and showing non-sales folks how to leverage these tools. It was a blast.
Even as I moved on to a Chief of Staff, people kept coming to me for LinkedIn help, and I kept raising my prices as demand grew.
I moved onto another Fortune 500 company focusing on Program Management, and the requests continued. Eventually, after a layoff in mid-2024, my husband nudged me to turn this “side hustle” into a full-fledged business. And that’s how Ascent Social Capital was born.
Now, I’m helping people shed that digital introvert label and show up on LinkedIn with confidence. Being an introvert in real life is enough. There is no need to take it to the digital world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Definitely not. I actually hit the ground running at first. I got a referral for a corporate client right out of the gate and thought, “Wow, this is going to be a breeze.” But, of course, entrepreneurship loves to teach you a lesson or two.
I quickly learned that there are cycles, and sometimes those cycles mean August might be crickets. It was definitely eye-opening to go from a steady paycheck to realizing, “Oh, I am the business now. I am sales. I am AP and AR. I am payroll.”
The struggles have taught me perseverance and patience. Those quiet months pushed me to lay a stronger foundation, and eventually all that behind-the-scenes work turned into some amazing opportunities. It’s definitely been a learning curve, but it’s made the success that follows that much sweeter.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ASCENT SOCIAL CAPITAL?
You know how most people treat LinkedIn like a digital resume?
We don’t do that.
At Ascent Social Capital, we help executives, founders, and revenue teams turn LinkedIn—and Sales Navigator—into a real growth engine. Not just a prettier profile, but a presence that builds authority, sparks opportunity, and moves the pipeline forward.
I’m talking clean strategy, practical systems, and what I call Digital Swagger™, that confident, credible energy that makes decision-makers stop scrolling and start responding.
We’re trusted by Fortune 500 execs, first-time founders, and high-growth teams who want visibility that actually converts. Not fluff. Not vanity metrics. Just clarity, credibility, and booked calls.
Our services range from profile audits and makeovers to Sales Navigator training, network activation plans, content strategy, and VIP Days for teams or individuals who want to show up and lead.
The goal? Simple.
More qualified first calls.
Higher InMail reply rates.
Thought leadership that feels like you—not what ChatGPT spit out.
And a 15-minute daily routine you’ll actually stick to.
What we believe in:
• Clarity first—talk to the right people in the right way.
• Authority over volume—because 3 strong touchpoints are better than 30 random ones.
• Teach and transfer—so your team leaves with skills, not just slides.
• And measurable wins—because impressions are cute, but booked calls pay the bills.
At the end of the day, people don’t just hire us for LinkedIn.
They hire us to stop leaking opportunities.
And that’s exactly what we do.
Plus, our clients find out how much fun they can actually have. Yes, fun!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is really all about living life on my terms. It means having the freedom to do what I want to do, when I want to do it, and where I want to do it. It’s that simple and that powerful. It’s about not constantly stressing over the next hurdle or the next big unknown. Instead, it’s having that sense of ease and control over my own journey.
And a big part of that is being able to take care of the people I love along the way, whether that’s family, friends, or my community. It’s also about having the space to just do what lights me up, without feeling boxed in.
So in a nutshell, success is that mix of personal freedom, the ability to support the people who matter, and having fun along the way. It’s really about designing a life that feels like mine.
