Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Baker.
Hi Tanya, We’re so excited to have you on the platform. Before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was growing up as a child who lost her father to mental illness and suicide. I always gravitated to church and the God-like lifestyle. I always wanted more. I also recognized early on that I had a gift to see things that only God could show me. At seven years old, a prophet at the church called me up front to the altar at church and told me that I was prophetically gifted and that God had called me to prophesy. From then on, I experienced supernatural things that I could not explain. I knew things about people that I could not have known. And I moved in the spirit quickly and talked to God regularly. Once, I married and became the wife of a Bishop. My then-husband believed in me and taught me just how great I was. Life showed me that I had a knack for using my prophetic gift to help people heal. With his encouragement and many other leaders in my life, I trained in the ministry. I trained in the prophetic and under my husband in healing and deliverance. Also, I graduated from college with a BS in interdisciplinary studies with a psychology emphasis from the University of Texas Arlington. I found women and men gravitated to me.
I understood that God had anointed me to help others heal. God spoke to me one day and told me that we are all triune individuals, and healing one part of us would still leave us crippled. Humanity needs a healing body, soul, and spirit to be completely healed. He called me that day “The Spiritual Life Coach.” I teach that the part of us left unhealed, if substantial, that unhealed part will pull the healed part of us back into the same dysfunction. It will leave us once again emotional and broken when dealing with our issues in this life. That is not God’s desire for us. I teach my clients how to walk in natural God-centered healing. That healing is in itself a forever thing to be walked out daily.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Whew, I am glad you asked. It is never a smooth road whenever you truly serve God and, indeed, in ministry. Often, you will be tested in what you teach, preach, and help others get delivered from. In one season, God had me helping many marriages heal, and out of nowhere, my marriage was attacked. I remember assisting people to help their children get on point, and then, out of nowhere, my kids had issues. I have, with my then-husband, the Bishop, helped people get delivered from demons, demonic attacks, strongholds, addictions, and so much more. Right after and almost immediately, we saw some of the same demonic attacks in our lives or the lives of those connected to us. One story I am reminded of is traveling in ministry, and we prayed for a young woman who was demonically oppressed. Another young woman wanted to come to our home that evening for deliverance. I remember my husband telling one of the young ladies assisting that she should not be apart if she had anything undealt spiritually or naturally. This was important because demons are very aware of whether you have the power to cast them out. She strongly insisted that she was good. Unfortunately, when it was over, she tried to commit suicide because the demons jumped on her. One thing to note is that demons always look for open doors. When my husband Bishop had helped the other young woman earlier that day, that demon spoke through her and stated it would have its revenge on us. However, we successfully cast it out of her and our house.
The world wishes not to accept the fact that a demonic attack is actual. Often, a lot of what we are dealing with, like addictions to pornography, sex, food, and more. These things are usually rooted in some form of demonic attachment. My ministry and coaching close the doors. I deal with the spiritual side, and through my training in psychology, I deal with the soulish side of man. After all, not all things are demons. Psychology helps us to deal with the habits and the natural things that hold us back—having been in therapy for a good portion of my own life after being called by God. It was why I understood every attack, demonic or natural, I would have to face, or even my family would have to face. Let’s say you have to be called to this. Because if God doesn’t call you to it, He has no obligation to bring you through it. Ministry is not for those seeking to rape the people financially. Because whatsoever you sow, that shall you reap. It is for those willing, like Jesus, to suffer for the sake of another, expecting nothing in return. Even today, I still find myself facing some new devil, some new level of spiritual and natural attacks. I am grateful for those who hold me up when I am weak. I am even more thankful for my relationship with Christ and for being able to help others stand in the face of adversity.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a motivational speaker, spiritual life coach, and author, Pastor Tanya Baker brings a unique perspective to her work. Her heart for the people of God and her dedication to steering people toward positivity are evident in her approach. Through social media, books, and the preached Word of God, she delivers powerful messages that have made her a sought-after motivational speaker and a compelling orator of the Word of God. Her prophetic gift is unparalleled, making her a truly anointed figure. After sharing her gifts with those whom God allowed, she is now ready to take her talent to the world!
I have coached some of today’s top celebrities and their children, from the daughters of LL Cool J, Samaria, Nina, and Italia Smith to their brother Najee. I have worked with Elisa Johnson, daughter of Magic and Cookie Johson, and the daughters of Martin Lawrence. I have coached and been the personal prophet to top-ranking Bishops and Pastors such as Bishop Darrell Hines, who resides on the board of 12 for the COGIC organization. I have also coached Bishop Darryl Hines, his wife, Pastor Pamela Hines, and their sons, Brandon and DJ Hines. The list is long. God has blessed me to be sought after by the world of entertainment and more for the gifts in my life. God has used me to coach many to master their spiritual and natural attacks in their lives.
Working through social media, books, and the preached Word of God, she is a sought-after motivational speaker and power-packed orator of the Word of God.
I first recognized the gift of prophecy at the age of 7. I know now that I was born a prophet. I walk into the office. Starting at age 7, it was then that I could accurately see things about people and tell them something they knew, except by God, that I could not know anything about. As far back as I can remember, I also saw demons, angelic beings, and spirits from age 7. I was not your ordinary 7-year-old or child.
I am also an AVP in Banking, a Financial Coach, a Spiritual Life Coach, a Prophet, and a Lead Pastor at Tabula Rasa Life Center, a Virtual Ministry. As a Leader and Spiritual Life Coach, my gifts have set me apart from others. I seek not to build the person’s emotions through theatrics and motivational words. But to give them, as we say in Christianity, the “meat” of the Word that will stick to their bones and raise a standard in times of distress and trouble. Please know that not only being called, gifted, and anointing got me here, but education and hard work as well. Challenges are always present, and through Christ, I am an overcomer. Therefore, my clients overcome.
