Hidden Gems: Meet Ti King of American Business Engine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ti King.

Hi Ti, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey behind the lens actually started right here in North Texas. I grew up in a small, impoverished town in rural Arkansas, but every summer was an escape to my grandparents’ home in Dallas. My grandmother had this massive, shoulder-mounted video camera, and I spent those summers documenting everything I could see. Those Texas summers planted the seed for what would become my career.

Years later, I returned to the city to establish myself as a professional videographer in Dallas. I pivoted into the podcasting industry, moving beyond just recording audio to becoming a Media Architect. I began speaking at the world’s largest podcast conventions, teaching creators how to bridge the gap between audio and high-end video production. From hosting booths for The Podcast Academy (Board of Governors) to running the live podcast studio at SXSW, I’ve focused on setting the visual standard for the industry. Now, as I prepare to lead the video production team for Podcast Movement in New York City this September, I’m bringing that international production experience back home to the Dallas creative community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
“If the road were smooth, I probably wouldn’t have the stories—or the resilience—that I have today. The journey of a Dallas videographer often involves battling more than just creative blocks; sometimes, you’re literally battling the elements to meet a production deadline.

This past year alone felt like a masterclass in ‘the show must go on.’ I found myself driving back from a film project on the warm beaches of Florida, only to get caught in a massive ice storm that turned a standard trip into a dangerous multi-day trek. Not long after, I headed to New York City for The Ambies (The Podcast Academy Awards), where I was met with a brutal blizzard that threatened to shut down the entire production.

Even my local shoots haven’t been exempt; I’ve navigated multiple tornado warnings while hauling trailer-loads of gear between Oklahoma and Texas for various filming projects.

Beyond the weather, the struggle of being a first-generation business owner from a rural background means you don’t start with a Rolodex of high-level contacts. You have to build your reputation frame by frame. But those ‘white-knuckle’ drives through ice and wind taught me something vital: reliability is the highest form of professional value. My clients in the podcast and non-profit sectors know that if Ti King is on the call sheet, the project will be delivered—no matter what the Texas (or New York) sky decides to do that day.

As you know, we’re big fans of American Business Engine. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

My business is built on the concept of Technical Storytelling. I operate under the title of Media Architect, which is a role I developed to describe the bridge between high-end video production and digital growth strategy. I don’t just show up and hit ‘record’—I design the entire visual infrastructure for my clients.

What I specialize in—and what I’ve become known for nationally—is Video Podcast Production and Event Media Strategy. In a world where every podcast now needs to be a video show, I help creators and brands build studios and workflows that look as good as they sound. I am currently the Lead Content Producer for Sounds Profitable, where I manage the media architecture for the most influential partners in the industry.

What sets me apart?
It’s the combination of ‘boots-on-the-ground’ grit and high-level strategy. I’ve managed production for 5-stage conventions at Terminal 5 in NYC and ran live podcast booths at SXSW, but I started my journey with nothing but a used camera and a lot of curiosity. That background allows me to communicate as easily with a C-suite executive as I do with a local non-profit founder.

What I am most proud of brand-wise:
I’m most proud of the work I’ve done with The Podcast Academy, serving on the Board of Governors. Being able to shape the visual standards for the entire podcasting industry is an honor. However, on a personal level, I am incredibly proud of my ability to capture human resilience. Because I grew up in an impoverished area of Arkansas, I have a deep, empathetic lens for recovery organizations and non-profits. I take the same high-end equipment and ‘NYC-level’ production quality I use for global brands and apply it to stories of recovery and social impact right here in Dallas.

What I want your readers to know:
I want the Dallas community to know that world-class video production is accessible here. Whether you are a business looking to launch a professional YouTube channel, a conference needing a Media Architect to manage your AV team, or a Dallas-based non-profit that needs its story told with dignity and power, I am here to build that for you.

My brand is about clarity and consistency. I believe that when the technical architecture is handled correctly, the story can finally speak for itself.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people who see me today—managing large-scale video teams at Podcast Movement or directing high-end studio shoots—assume I’ve always been immersed in the world of media and marketing. But my path to becoming a Media Architect started in a much more unconventional classroom.

Before I ever launched my first marketing business, I spent time teaching Microsoft Office Suite to incarcerated individuals.

That experience was a pivotal chapter in my life. Teaching in a prison environment forces you to strip away the fluff and focus on absolute clarity. You have to be able to take complex, technical concepts and make them accessible to people who are looking for a way to rebuild their lives. It taught me that technology is a tool for empowerment, and that lesson is the backbone of everything I do today.

It’s why I’m so passionate about working with Dallas recovery organizations and non-profits. I’ve seen firsthand how high-quality technical skills and professional storytelling can change the trajectory of someone’s life. Whether I’m teaching a prisoner how to format a document or teaching a CEO how to host a video podcast, the goal is the same: providing the structural tools people need to tell their own stories and build their own futures.
