Hidden Gems: Meet Tosha Moore of Amazing Hearts Homecare and Staffing LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tosha Moore

Hi Tosha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began in healthcare staffing and homecare in 2013, sparked by a deeply personal experience. After losing my grandmother, I saw firsthand the negligence of the agency that cared for her. That moment pushed me to become a compassionate caregiver for others. Before that, I owned my own healthcare staffing agency, but expanding into homecare felt like a calling.
Being a single mom at 17 taught me resilience and perseverance, qualities that have carried me through life. In 2003, I founded Azarel Outreach Inc., a nonprofit that gives back to my East Texas community. We provide quality care, essential supplies, and financial assistance for housing to disabled individuals, while helping single parents become self-sufficient through mentorship, budgeting, and entrepreneurship.
In 2021, my wife passed away from stage 4 colon cancer. She was a veteran and a caregiver herself, and her journey inspired me to focus on serving the veteran population. Caring for her until her final moments transformed my pain into passion, leading to the creation of Kay’s Komfort Homes LLC with the assistance of my then girlfriend. Through this company, we provide personal care homes for disabled veterans in the DFW area.
Along the way, I became the first Black woman to complete the Steward Leadership Diploma at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I learned to teach stewardship. I’ve served as an Elder of Transitional Ministries in the LGBTQI community and as an instructor for BLS and Narcan training. Partnering with HHM Health, I also facilitate Narcan overdose training to save lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Gods Grace and Mercy and many many prayers have been the strength that has gotten me through.

Surely not a smooth road. I am a lesbian black woman that often times am judged by many of these things.

Often times not being the ideal face of what is by popular demand.
My appearance is either loved or hated. Often determining if that person chooses to do business with my company or not.

Accessing capital and grants are always a challenge. I always have to be great at creative funding.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Amazing Hearts is truly a labor of love. We provide in-home care to disabled individuals, helping them live safely and independently. Our services include cooking, light housekeeping, companionship, medication management, caregiver relief and more. We specialize in working with veterans and their families, delivering care that feels personal and heartfelt.
What sets us apart is our commitment to passion-driven service. Every staff member we hire has a heart for making a difference. I’m proud to say that when someone chooses Amazing Hearts, they’re not just getting a caregiver – they’re getting someone who truly cares about their well-being.
We want your readers to know that we’re here to care for their loved ones just as they would – with love, dignity, and respect.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are surprised to learn that I’m a shy introvert. While I can talk about my passion for helping others endlessly, I get nervous speaking to large audiences. It’s a challenge for me to present my company in a way that reflects how much we truly care.
That said, I go to bed every night thinking of ways to improve the lives of the people we serve. My shyness doesn’t stop me from putting my heart into everything I do – and that’s what drives Amazing Hearts forward every day.
